Kids and their night-lights.

Our son, Tyler who is 5, has been having nightmares at night. So every night, he wouldn’t go to sleep right away. He wants the lights on so he can read, (well, more like looking), his books. We would turn off the lights only when he falls asleep.

It has been working fine until a few nights ago, he woke up in the middle of the night screaming. What I have been doing is open the shades half way to let the street lights shine in, but after alot of coaxing.

We were so against having night-lights b/c of the study we read back in 1999. The study said that night-lights might cause near-sightedness.  My neighbor, and a good friend who used to work for an Opthamologist, told me that that study is false, and she was right.  There is no relationship between night-lights and near-sightedness.

So just wanted to let you parents know in case if you didn’t know that already. We were in the dark about this, no pun intended. ;-)
