Children and their toys.
Don’t you think kids nowaday have way too much toys, and most of the time…they don’t even play with half of the toys they have.Â
We got so tired of having toys all over the family room, we finally narrowed it down to only a few main toys that the kids play all the time, their Legos and Star Wars stuff. As for our baby daughter, Sophia, she plays (or should I say chews on) with anything that her brothers allow her to.Â
We are pretty strict when it comes to child rearing. We try not to spoil them too much with material things. Our 5 years old son, Tyler, has been wanting a Gameboy for a long time but we are still holding off on that, as long as we can. He can play computer games online, like Legos.com, Nickjr.com, or educational softwares, etc…
Our thinking is that, they won’t miss what they don’t have. I’m just amazed of how parents can spoil their kids so much nowaday. They have to have the latest toys, or the latest things, or the latest fashion, etc…My question is WHY?Â
It’s too bad that kids are not using their imagination or physical play (such as playing outside) as much as when we were growing up. Do you find yourself saying to your kids “when I was your age…we didn’t have so and so to play with…”
Well, I guess time has changed but that doesn’t mean I have to change with it!
