Conversations with Daddy!

Have you ever listened to your husband’s conversations (well, it’s really a one way conversation really) with your children?  Well, I have… many times and I’d like to share them with you.  It makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

Daddy’s conversations with our two sons, Tyler 5 and Trent 3.

  • “When you guys get older and moved out, make sure you call your Mom once in a while, ok?!”
  • “I can’t wait for you guys to grow up so we can play games together (that’s video games)”
  • “I hope you’ll find someone like your Mom (I loved this one the most *satisfied smile*)”
  • “I can’t wait for you guys to be bigger so you can help me shovel the snow, and do yardwork.”
  • “When you make alot of money, buy your Mom a nice present, ok?!*ahhh*”
  • “You’ll move out when you’re 18 (oh, I don’t think so!)”

After having two boys, we were so blessed with the happiest and cutest little girl, Sophia.  And you can imagine how my husband is with her, Mr. extremely overprotective… already *rolling eyes*.

And here’s Daddy’s conversation with Sophia, our 10 months old daughter.

  • “Daddy’s going to buy you the house next door, so you can live next to us when you grow up.  We won’t bother you too much, maybe a visit here and there. *laughing out loud*”
  • “You can’t wear make up until you’re 21!! *eye rolling*”
  • “You can’t drink liquor until you’re 30!! *more eye rolling*”
  • “You’re so cute, Daddy can’t stand it (and smother her with kisses until she laughs out loud)!!”
  • “We’ll go shopping.  What do you like?  Kate Spade, Gucci, or Chanel? *holding my belly from laughing too much*”
  • “Yeah, long hair and bangs look good on you!”
  • “Make sure you marry someone we like (oh boy, my poor girl!)!”
  • “You’ll move out when you’re married, that would be 35!”

One day, we saw a group of highschool girls standing around talking to their friends, who were boys, and my husband said to Sophia…

  • “Make sure you go home right after school, no fraternizing with the boys (I agreed w/this wholeheartedly, ;-)).”

And so he went on and on until they were bored of listening to him.  But I do hope that they won’t be bored with us when we get older *fingers crossed*!
