Family vacation!!

February 20th, 2006

Don’t you just love the word “vacation”?  Doesn’t it conjure up images of you:

  • sipping the most delicious umbrella drinks on a secluded oasis resort with a cabana boy fanning at your back,
  • going snorkling in the clear, tropical blue water with the sun shining on your back,
  • getting manicures, pedicures, and all kinds of spa treatments with names like “seaweed body mask”, or “herbal wraps”,
  • eating the most exotic dishes with names you can’t pronounce…with the cabana boy fanning at your back,
  • or…oh wait the minute, I’m daydreaming…or was it a commercial I just saw on TV.

Nissan Quest’s “service bulletin”.

This is an update to my other entry (Mommy’s “loser’s cruiser” a.k.a. Minivan!).

If you have a 2004 Nissan Quest…you must have heard this really annoying “grinding” noise every time you accelerate.  The best I can describe that noise is like someone’s sharpening knives with a sharpening machine.

I have brought our van to two different dealerships for them to fix that annoying noise.  But after four times, the mechanics couldn’t find where the noise was coming from.  They said that it “could” be the “heat shield”.  But still the problem didn’t get fixed.

Watch out…it’s “Bridezillas” in the house!!

February 15th, 2006

I’m in the middle of another entry regarding “Kids’ rooms makeover…” (coming soon) and watching this show on “WE” channel calls “Bridezillas” at the same time.  I couldn’t resist writing about it.  If you haven’t seen it before, you have got to see it!!

It’s a “reality series that follows high-maintenance brides-to-be”.

OH MY GODDDD!  You mean to tell me, there are brides like these women out there?!!  WHOA!!  Ok, here is an obviously question “why the heck would you be in a show like this for million of people to see??”

School vacations…ugh!!

February 14th, 2006

If you have school age children, school vacations can either be a nuisance, a chore, or a bore (oh, was I thinking out loud?!)…I meant to say a blissful time!

And if you are not one of the lucky travellers going somewhere fun…trying to come up with games or just something to keep the kids occupied…ALL THE TIME can be taxing!! *sigh*

It gets even harder if you have rules in your house like we do (why do I subject myself to this?).  The kids can only watch TV during the weekends.  Forget about Gameboys, or XBox…Santa still hasn’t found our house on the map yet, thank goodness!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

February 14th, 2006

To all the parents out there…may you get showered with lots of hugs and kisses from your children, that’s including your husbands!!

To all the single women and men out there…may you find blissfull, and endless love in whatever gender you prefer!!

To all the committed couples out there…what are you waiting for??  Today is as good as any day to propose to her or him!!

And lastly, I have a story to make you chuckle and as the same time…something to think about.Â
