Mommy’s proudest moment!

I recently entered a contest called “Proudest Mom Moment!” with www.townonline.com/parentsandkids but never thought that my entry would be chosen…but it did! ;-)

I’d like to share what I’ve written with you folks and ask you to send in your own “Proudest Mom/Dad Moment!” We’d love to hear how your little ones make you proud every day. I know, being a Mom is already a proud moment for me, I’m sure you have the same sentiment but we’d love to hear your stories all the same.

But even if I didn’t win the contest, I feel like the richest person on Earth with my three precious (Tyler, Trent and Sophia) bundles of joy every single day!! ;-)

Mommy’s proudest moment!

I am a stay-at-home Mom to three wonderful, feisty, and rambunctious pride and joy. Tyler is 5 going on 40. Trent is 3 and still in the terrible 2 stage. And my little happy princess, Sophia, just turned 1 (and I’d love for her to remain my little girl forever!)

There are many proud moments in my life as a Mother. Being able to bring a child into this world is such proud and humbling experiences, and I was blessed threefold!! My children are my life and I am a better person because of their existence. Each child has their own milestones that we as parents brag about every single day (to anyone who’s willing to listen, thank goodness for Grandparents), from their first step, to their first word to their first hug, and many more “firsts” waiting for us to enjoy.

There was one proudest moment that will stay with me forever and it was the time that I took my three children to swimming lessons at the local YMCA. Since Sophia is too young to be in the pool with the boys, I had to hold her while Tyler and Trent swim with the instructor. But that’s not easy to do with a three year old boy who’s still very clingy and has detachment issue. Trent refused to go with his swimming class and wanted to remain by my side but I was adamant that he goes with his class (the class was already paid for!!)

As I was distracted with Sophia, I looked up to see Tyler holding Trent’s hand and leading him to the pool area. It was such a precious gesture that I was in tears with pride that my son, Tyler, is such a caring and affectionate brother, who was protective of his youngest brother.

I know this is not a big accomplishment in school, or sports to some parents. But to me, it speaks volume and I hope my children will be caring, kind and affectionate human beings.

Treasure and cherish those proud moments no matter how big or small they are!

Congrats on the contest and on raising such precious children. I do think it’s an incredible feeling when you observe your children being their wonderful selves in the world. Kindness matters so much and when our kids show such compassion for one another it is truly and accomplishment (for us and for them).
Thanks for sharing.
