Happy Mother’s Day!!
Today, we celebrate you...Mothers! Now, who came up with the date, May 14 or the third Sunday, as a special day reserved for Moms?
Don't you think we should celebrate Mother's day every single day?! Was it some guy at the "holiday office" feeling guilty that he rarely calls or visits his own Mom and that he needed a national holiday as a reminder to do the aforementioned, you know, call or visit his Mom. Gee, are you with me here?! *exasperated sigh*
And forget about the merchants at the mall or those ecommerce folks. Does Mom really need a new toaster, or a set of copper pots and pans? Really! How about the new panini sandwich maker? Yes, she has been dying to get that one in stanless steel please, to go with her new stainless steel washer/dryer, that she got...for her birthday!! But make sure you put a nice bow on it!! 
And NO, yours truly did not receive the washer/dryer as mentioned above *phew*. I'm one of the fortunate chickies who's found my "diamond in the rough" as the saying goes! 
He's THE romantic type, showering me with lots of LOVE (say it deeper like Barry White), and all the good stuff a woman should have...you know, girl's bestfriend...no, not a dog but lots of blings!
But this frugal Mom of three can't justify wearing something shiny while there's fees for everything related to kids, i.e. summer camps, swimming, music, karate, Score! Educational Centers, sports and the biggest load of all, college fund!!! 
Well, you might think I'm crazy for turning those "cadeaux" down, I'm happy just to get one hour of free time to go to the...golf range or a set of "Shea it isn't so" products from Bath and Bodyworks (hint hint hubbie!). That stuff is awesome on cracked hands, of course for those hundreds of diapers you have the pleasure of changing monthly.
In any case, whatever your other half brings home or concocted with the children...I'm sure you will love it, adore it and treasure it!
And to reiterate my feelings about my own Mom, I'd like to refer back to an entry I've written about/for her in A Mom's love is infinitely precious!
