You’re Only Young Once (YoYo)!
Yo-Yo is this week’s theme on mamasaysom. My interpretation on this is what I’ve coined You’re Only Young Once (YoYo).
As I sit here contemplating what I would like to do while I’m still young, there are a million and one things that I would love to do with my three precious children and my sainted husband. But as I thought and thought about it, the devil “mini me” in horns who sit on my left shoulder said “Nah, this is all about YOU!”
I think I can speak for all Mothers out there, who have been through countless excrutiating childbirths, and those who have agonizingly waited for their adopted children, that we are all selfless! Our family comes first above our needs and wants.
So, this list is specifically for ME, this time anyway. Oh, I do feel extremely guilty doing this but…here goes.
What would I do while I’m still young, if not in age, at heart? This list is not in any order.
- Sing Karaoke in front of an audience with my own back-up singers.
- Bungee jumping from the most exotic place on Earth, not sure where that is yet. Any ideas?
- Learn to speak French, Chinese, and Italian.
- Charity works.
- Attend Le Cordon Bleu, Culinary Schools.
- Learn how to swim and overcome my fear of the deep end.
- Travel the world.
- Write a children’s book.
- Act on stage in front of real audiences.
If I accomplish half of this list…I will deem it a very fruitful life besides from being a mother to my three pride and joy! Do you have a “YoYo” list of your own?

What a clever take on the theme!
I bet your oldest would hold your hand and help you swim in the deep end. Sweet post.
I loved your “You’re Only Young Once” list–what a great take on “yo-yo”–such fun.
This is a great list. I would put
Charity works.
Attend Le Cordon Bleu, Culinary Schools.
Travel the world.
Write a children’s book.
Act on stage in front of real audiences.
on my list too.
I am too afraid of heights for the bungee jumping.
I keep meaning to put a list like this together, good idea for the theme!
