School’s out…83 days ’til First Grade.
Today was Tyler’s last day of Kindergarten, somebody helps me. Oh, did I say that out loud?! I can’t believe the year has gone by so fast. He was just my little guy getting on the bus with his “Bob the Builder” backpack wearing the paper crown letting the bus driver knows where to drop him off after school, and what class he was supposed to go to.

I am so proud of Tyler’s progress. He has come out of his shell, from hiding behind my legs when someone asked him a question a year ago to this outgoing five and a half energetic little adorable boy, who received all “T’s”, that’s “on target” folks on his report card. Proud Mom that I am!!
He brought home a brunch of artworks, and school work that will end up in the recycle bin at the end of the week (Shh! What he doesn’t know, won’t hurt him). But his first Year Book will be kept amongst his baby keepsakes.
I was flipping through the Year Book and couldn’t help but chuckled at all the cute little faces and their aspirations for future careers. Ladies and gentlemen, my son will be, ready for this, a ZOO KEEPER!
That’s right! A Zoo Keeper, not that it’s anything wrong with that profession. This is the kid who loves making robots, with his Legos and I’d have thought something in the “robotic” field. I had no idea where he got that idea from, until I flipped through other pages and found two of his friends who will also be a Zoo Keeper.
So the deciding factor was pure peer pressure. Oh, how they start so young!
And there were four of his classmates who will be bus drivers when they grow up. I’m sure their parents will be as happy as I am with my Zoo Keeper.
Did you keep your children’s first Year Book? If so, what did they want to be when they grow up?

Wow - this picture almost brought a tear to my eye. I cannot also believe that it has almost a year since our son has started school.
One of the greatest aspects of my wife’s blog is that it is sort of a living breathing history of our family - as well as her opinion on everything under the sun!
Zoo keeper! Funny but as a dad I would think that would be a cool profession at least we would get free tickets to the zoo and maybe get to feed the cool animals such as lions, bears and tiger - oh my…
Zoo Keeper..! That’s great. When I was around that age I wanted to be a Ninja.
I can’t wait until my daughter hits those years! So much to look forward to…
I’ll need you to hold my virtual hand soon.
That picture………..
Aww. That is such a cute picture. Congrats to Tyler on graduating kindergarten!
Well, my eldest daughter wanted to be either a cashier at Super WalMart or a butterfly.
My eldest son wanted to be a T-Rex or a Daddy.
My nephew wanted to be a pizza-maker at Dominos.
My middle son (who is also finishing up Kindergarten this month) just woke up. I knew he wanted to be something funny, but I couldn’t remember what it was when I posted my first comment. I was happy to be able to refresh my memory.
He says that “for real life” he wants to be Puss in Boots (from Shrek 2). And a lion. And Spiderman and Batman. And a Power Ranger.
I don’t mean to take up so much space, but my 7 year old just woke up. My 5 year old wanted him to tell me what he wanted to be when he grew up, too. My 7 year old is the one who used to want to be a T-Rex. Now his big aspirations are being a kodiac bear (or a chef).
I can’t wait to have my boys turn into animals!
