Written by Waya’s Husband

Wow… I feel very special to be able to write on my darling’s very nice blog. I am surprised she let me :). Well get to the point as one famous person said.

We will have a contest weekly where Waya will be selecting the “Best” comment for the week. It is really up to her and she is Waya after all, so obviously this is totally objective! She will select the winner every Thursday night - Eastern Standard Time. So what do you win other than Waya’s favor and admiration? Well…

I’m always in awe as to what comes out of my five year old son’s mouth (going on 40 I should say). I’ve jotted down some more to share with you. And it’s also a way for me to keep track of his progress, I guess I should chart his milestones this way, since his “Baby book” hasn’t been touched in 5 years, but sitting collecting dust on a shelf somewhere.

Mr. Movie Critic:

Tyler was watching some “good” part of Star Wars where Yoda was fighting the bad guy and he commented afterward

“Yoda’s fast for a small guy!”

School’s out…83 days ’til First Grade.

Today was Tyler’s last day of Kindergarten, somebody helps me. Oh, did I say that out loud?! I can’t believe the year has gone by so fast. He was just my little guy getting on the bus with his “Bob the Builder” backpack wearing the paper crown letting the bus driver knows where to drop him off after school, and what class he was supposed to go to.

I am so proud of Tyler’s progress. He has come out of his shell, from hiding behind my legs when someone asked him a question a year ago to this outgoing five and a half energetic little adorable boy, who received all “T’s”, that’s “on target” folks on his report card. Proud Mom that I am!! ;-)

I was schlepping my three children around the other day as usual while listening to “It’s my life” by No Doubt and my 5 year old belted out on the top of his lungs in the backseat of our loser’s cruiser, “it’s my life, la la la”.

I couldn’t control myself from laughing and thinking to myself. Oh, it’s cute now but not when he’s a teenager saying shouting the same thing “it’s my life, I do what I want…You can’t tell me what to do!” *door slamming*

Take my hand and we will saunter.

“Take my hand and we will saunter back to the Prehistoric time, I will tell you what happened to the Dinosaurs and their babies. So pay attention Trent. Let me read the sign and I’ll tell you what it said. Oh, it looks too long and hard to say. Let’s ask Mommy!”

Precious siblings’ moments such as this will hopefully last longer than what our camera has captured. Our hope is that they will saunter together throughout their lives, through thick or thin, and through bliss or sadness. Then, we, as parents, can leisurely saunter through our own journey together.
