Come Back: A Book Review

July 30th, 2006

I received an email from Claire Fontaine, the author of Come Back: A Mother and Daughter's Journey Through Hell and Back, at the beginning of July. She read a post that I've written about my "book club" and would liike to know if I'd like to review her book for my supposedly "book club."

I was flattered, puzzled and apprehensive at the same time and decided to send Ms. Fontaine an email to let her know that:

  1. I'm not a book critic.
  2. My book club consists of my family members, i.e. siblings, spouse, in-laws, nieces and nephew.
  3. And "why me"?
  4. The book already received rave reviews from book critics, so why would my review matter?

I’ve been tagged (gulp!)

July 28th, 2006

Cool Zebras Mom (that she is...COOL!) has just tagged me to answer HBM Mupproustian interview and let me tell you, I'm all nervous, breaking out in hives, and breathing into a bag hyperventilating ever since she tagged me.

Although this is very exciting to put myself out there for you gentle readers to know a little bit more about me and my blogging world, it can be very daunting at the same time. I don't like to have a spotlight on me. I thought I can just hang out in the back of the class and just enjoy reading your blogs, while posting my own rants and raves without any attention...to myself.

Ice ice Bebe

July 27th, 2006

The last time I posted a picture of my three adorable rugrats, I got THE most comments in my blogging life (you guys are not helping my ego by letting me know that REALLY it's not my writing that you're coming to this blog...but actually the pictures you're dying to see. Aren't I right? You're on pins and needles wanting to peek at what my little W.A.Y.As look like), so I thought, why not "pimp" out another picture to get some more "love" from you gentle readers. Oh, I'm so going to Hell for this! But what the heck, humor me. I had a rough week.

Laughter is the “best medicine” for your heart

July 26th, 2006

I think this blog needs some humor after this happened. Humor is what gets me through the monotonous days filled with diaper changing, schlepping around, doing chores, blah blah blah. And not only that, according to this article, laughter is good for your heart!!

You've got to love blogs, I have been addicted to reading the many many blogs in the blogosphere and there are a lot of funny talented writers out there. Of course I can't list them all, but this one post still gets me a chuckle here and there every time I think about it.

A trip to the ER

July 23rd, 2006

We had one nightmarish visit to Winchester hospital Emergency Room (Mass)* about six years ago that I vowed never to set foot in an ER again, if we can help it, unless someone is bleeding profusely, needing an ambulance or stitches are required.

Well, that night was Friday.

We were at my sister's house Friday night for dinner when Tyler, our five-year-old son, fell down on the hardwood floor after attempting to jump off the couch, missing the ottoman and landed flat on his chin. He shrieked painfully and my husband ran to him, as I was holding our 17 month-old Sophia.
