What a treat

I’ve been doing cart wheels, jumping up and down around the house since last Friday exclaiming gleefully “what a treat to have Daddy home with us!” Without realizing that “treat” was this week’s theme at mamasaysom.

My hubbie’s been traveling quite a bit for work, to everyone’s chagrin, especially moi since I’m on double duty day AND night when he’s not around! And he was supposed to be on a plane to Germany Monday night, yup! He’d have been away for 4th of July. But Corporate America doesn’t care if it infringes upon your holidays or god forbid, your family’s time off together.

So everyone, please raise your glasses to “travel ban”…for this moment anyway until it’s lifted and off he goes again. But it’s still a treat to have him home enjoying the looooong weekend with us.

And if that’s not a treat enough. Please allow me to boast of how wonderful my hubbie is. It’ll never cease to amaze me at how thougthful he is of all the 8.5 years of our blissful marriage. Ok, you over there in the back row…stop making that barfing sound. Oh, it’s only my sisters folks. They are green with envy!!! ;-)

He arranged secretly with my neighbor (while he was still on his business trip last week), who belongs to our town’s country club, for me to go golfing with them on Sunday while he watches the kids. People, let me repeat that! He was babysitting our three rascals while I went and played 9-hole with my neighbors!! Riding the golf cart around, and hitting that little frustrating ball around! WHAT A TREAT IT WAS!!

Although he was exhausted himself, knowing that his wife needs a day off to herself is so thoughtful and so selfless of him. I’m teary just thinking of how lucky of a gal I am! Note to self: need to reread this in case if we have a spat of some sort.

How about you? Have your spouses ever done anything for you that was such a treat and left you speechless?

Awww…. how sweet of your hubby to do that.
Last thing my hubby did was send flowers to my work for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. I can’t really complain since 6 out 7 nights he has dinner cooking when I come home from work.

You lucky dame you! Your hubbie cooks for you?! That’s a treat in itself! My hubbie is starting to learn how to cook for me. It’s been breakfast food the past couple of weekends. I’m waiting for a nice 5 course meal one of these days, and I’m not counting condiments as the other 4 courses. ;-)

I would be miserable if my husband traveled for work - and I only have one nutball little boy! What a sweetie to arrange your golf outing!

My husband cooks for us since we’d be malnourished with Social Services at our door if I did so it really is more out of necessity than anything. The greatest gift he gives me is weekend mornings - our son has decided that we all MUST get up when the sun comes up. Like around 5:15am. Daddy takes him downstairs to watch cartoons and leaves me to sleep in. The key here is that Daddy has the ability to snooze with a 3 year old sitting on him and that is quite a talent.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and congrats on the travel ban!

Saturday night! My wife made plans for just the two of us to go on a romantic dinner train ride this weekend. Woo-hoo! (chugga-chugga)

Have a great time Jeff! You have a great wife there! The last time we went on a date was my hubbie’s b-day and that was in Feb. Pathetic huh?!

You have a thoughtful husband! That is a treat! My husband doesn’t get it, I have to ask for a treat which negates the gift part of it. You are a lucky girl!

This week my husband has been on vacation-what a treat it is! I love having the extra set of hands and feeling as if he understands myt daily life better.

Glad you got him home for a bit.
