Monday blues
I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling the “Monday blues” today. We stay-at-home Moms do go through the same as you folks heading off to your offices, high-rises, low-rises or whatever rises your building is where you punch in.
Do people still “punch in” these days? You know, the actual punching of the time card kind of thing. The last time I had to punch in was 17 years ago during college summer work. And there’s no time card while I was at my sales career for nine years before kids. Wow! I feel so out of touch with the “outside” working world. Maybe I need to come up with my own time card, oh I forgot…my kids are my time card. They dictate what time I get up, when to have time to do chores, when to have lunch, and when to do my blog, etc…
As I look around the house today, the only word that comes to mind to describe my Monday is FULL.
I was greeted by my fully cranky daughter at 4ish this morning who was not full from her early morning milk and cried for a full hour.
The sink is full of sippy cups and dishes from breakfast and lunch.
The bed is full of unfolded-newly-washed clothes from the weekend being away.
The kitchen island is full of unsorted, and unfiled mail.
The family room is full of toys being thrown every which way.
AND…
I am fully exhausted looking at all these untouched chores knowing full well that I will have to do them before I can punch out at 11ish tonight!
What’s the word that best describe your Monday?

the same as yours!
My 16 month old is running me ragged. We are trying for a second and I question my sanity- we have already plopped down $10,000 for IVF so I guess backing out is not an option.
Sorry to vent-your post was great to read for me on this Monday
Egads. Full just about describes it for me too.
Sometimes I placate myself by thinking that I set my own schedule, I am the boss, I am with people (OK, kids) whom I love all day, and if I need to, I can just zone out on the floor for a little bit.
Can’t exactly get away with doing that in an office.
Today’s word was tired. I woke up tired, went to work tired, came home tired, and now I’m staying up past my bedtime reading blogs.
Come to think of it, tomorrow’s word might be tired, too.
I had a particularly difficult Sunday that led to a very tough Monday. I called is Sunday Sadness and Monday Madness…but it was because I was even more upset than usual about leaving my Okapis to go to work. Us work away from home Dads have it rough on Mondays, too, unfortunately.
Wouldn’t it be better if we were all home???
