I’ve been tagged (gulp!)

Cool Zebras Mom (that she is…COOL!) has just tagged me to answer HBM Mupproustian interview and let me tell you, I’m all nervous, breaking out in hives, and breathing into a bag hyperventilating ever since she tagged me.

Although this is very exciting to put myself out there for you gentle readers to know a little bit more about me and my blogging world, it can be very daunting at the same time. I don’t like to have a spotlight on me. I thought I can just hang out in the back of the class and just enjoy reading your blogs, while posting my own rants and raves without any attention…to myself.

I’ve discovered Cool Zebras through other people’s blogs a while back and I’ve been hooked since. I really enjoy her writing and find myself saying “yeah, I’ve been there, uh huh” many times. So check out her blog and you’ll see what I mean.

1) What is the quality you most admire in a blogger?

I’m with Cool Zebras Mom on this one. I find myself hooked on blogs that are honest, heartfelt and funny. There are so many talented writers out there and after reading them, I find myself saying “when I grow up, I just want to write like them.” Their ability to transform their thoughts into descriptive, colorful words really make me envious and hopeful that someday I might be able to write just as well. I often told my husband, (who’s regretting buying me this laptop in the first place), so many blogs to read…so little time.

2) What is your most marked blogging characteristic (or, how would you describe your blog)?

My husband persuaded me to start this blog (with his help since I’m hopelesly computer illiterate) after venturing into this e-store as a side business (diapers and college funds are exorbitant as we all know!). He thought it would be a good fit with my experience (yeah right!) being a SAHM, and my many (supposedly) tips on childbirths, household products, etc…So I started this blog out as a place where people can come to find a way to remove “puke stains” etc… You’ll be surprised how many hits I get a day for this in Google, funny huh? But then I find myself running out of tips, and I got a bit courageous to write about my own family experience, my children, my rants and raves. And now I’m totally addicted to blogging.

3) What is your greatest virtue as a blogger (what do you most like about your blog)?

My sister said I can talk to anyone, even a cricket if it can talk back. So I guess my blog is “what you see is what you get, nothing pretentious here.” This is the one place that I can go to “talk” if noone is around, that includes a cricket. It sure beats doing houseworks.

4) What do you regard as the principle defect of your blog?

I’d love to be more descriptive and colorful in my writing. Being able to paint a picture with more hues than just black, white and grey. And I haven’t had the courage to put a picture of myself up yet, this goes back to the fear of being in the spotlight (no I don’t have two heads or anything like that!). It took a lot of thoughts for me to put my kids’ pictures up, and I only did that recently, in fear of security.

5) What character of fiction do you most wish had a blog?

King Arthur and his knights.

6) What historical or real life person do you most wish had a blog?

There are so many of them but these people come to mind, Princess Diana, Audrey Helpburn, J.K. Rowling, Tom Cruise (just to see if he’s really as wacky as he acts in real life).

7) What is your present state of blog (present state of mind as a blogger)?

A little insecure and a bunch of self-doubt. When I visit other people’s blogs, I see that they get a bunch of comments for their posts, and wondering to myself “wow! That’s nice validation that people like their writing.” But then my number one fan, my hubbie, often starts his cheer with “Rome wasn’t built in one day…” speech and then that would take me out of my funk…until the next time of self-doubting hits.

8) What is your blog motto?

My sister came up with this motto,”Who Asked You Anyway, aka W.A.Y.A” since I’m known to have my two cents in everything. It’s what keeps me sane from being a SAHM, and this also goes back to #3. I’m just hoping it doesn’t come across as being obnoxious. But I’m sure you’ll let me know, won’t you?

Whew!  I’m done!  You don’t know how many times I had to rewrite and edit on my answers.  Thanks for reading and now I’d love to have you join me in this tagging game.  I’d love to know more about you.

Great answers! Thanks for playing, and for saying such nice things about me. (Blush!)

I also think I don’t get enough comments, and really like the validation that those few comments that I do get give me. Oh well, most of those blogs that have a million comments have been blogging for a really long time. I’m only on month 3. I guess I have to pay my dues or something.

Thanks again. Don’t forget to comment and add your link on HBM’s site.

I don’t get a “lot” of comments either, but I do get what I deserve. In other words, I receive back almost the same amount of comments of the blogs I visit and comment on, so I think that’s fair. One thing I do know is that I get a lot of “lurkers” because my site meter tells me they visit every day - but they don’t comment.

I see a lot of blogs where the author recieves 50, 75, 100 or even 250 comments a day and can’t imagine that they ever get the chance to reciprocate back. In those cases, they’ve reached some sort of celebrity status so the readers are basicallly feeding the fame. I don’t ever expect to be that famous.

You are too cute!! I just read your profile… and I think your personality really shines through your blog. I don’t think you need to post a picture of yourself (though I would love it!) because I can already see that you probably smile a lot, and I bet you have nice eyes too…

Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Allysun~ Aw shuck! You’re making me BLUSH here! Thanks for the nice comment. I’m so going to sleep with a smile on my face now. My hubbie said that you’re just adding to my huge ego here.

It has been one heck of a day with my 3 rascals. My hubbie and I stared wide eyed at each other and said in unison “is it full moon today?”
