My little Mr. “Project Runway”
As I was watching “Project Runway” tonight, (I’m watching for the fashion/designs, not the bickering, the b!itching *really*, and certainly not the annoying “auf Wiedersehen!” Heidi Klum, although my hubbie begs the differ, about Heidi that is!) *stop drooling Arthur!*, it reminds me of what my little Ralph Lauren did the other day.
Tyler saw this shirt, as I was putting it away from the 102nd load of laundry the other day, and said “that’s cute Mommy!” How’s that for a compliment, after that never-ending-mountain of laundry, from your five year-old son?! AHHHH!!!

Tyler decided to sketch his own version of my shirt. Here’s his first sketch as I was online signing him up to be the next contestant on “Project Runway”. Don’t you just heart the word “love”?! And are those chicken feet or my three fingers?

Another of Tyler’s sketch on the same shirt but this time he chose a different hue, and embellished more floral pattern. Not to mention those two HUGE round circles peeking out from the shirt that he called “your belly Mommy”, which was corrected by my three year-old son “boobs Mommy”! Where the heck did, Trent, my three year-old learn that and my five year-old was oblivious to? I swear, Trent will be teaching Tyler “the birds and the bees” by the time he’s ten. Oh lord help me!

Ps: Thanks Tyler for embellishing Mommy’s “belly” too!!

HA! That’s so cute! And Tyler’s right - it’s a darling shirt:)
It does look cute.
However, I grew up with shirts having sleeves and straight-edged bottoms and concert logos.
Fashion was color choice oriented: white and/or gray!
Now I have colors that I never imagined: Sea Mist green? Desert Sand? Salmon???
Awesome! Wouldn’t it be so cool if Tyler ended up growing up to be a famous fashion designer? Maybe he’s the next Marc Jacobs or Calvin Klein. And to think, it all would have started with this lovely rendering of your shirt.
I like the whole transparency thing he’s got going on in the second picture. That’s normally a fairly hard concept to draw - especially for young kids.
But sure - just keep telling yourself that Tyler was oblivous to the boobs thing. That’s it.
So cute, you clearly have a talented boy there.
I’m in love with PR as well. It so makes me want to make my own clothing, which I used to do when I lived in my parents big old house with an actual sewing room. Here in my tiny apartment, however, I can only dream.

I LOVE these drawings! Jack totally knows what boobs are, and he is two! I love that he changed up the color, what a great imagination!
If you encourage his creative side he could be taking care of you in your old age. Not a bad trade-off for the boob picture, if you ask me.
And that is a cute shirt!
Nothing better than a five-year-old ego boost.
What a great post, sweet son.
Btw, the picturewords button. It might work if you right click it and save it to a file on your computer and then instal it on your blog and hyperlink it.
Hope that works for you.
The boy has taste, that’s for sure!!
You asked about my ebay adventure. It’s really quite easy to sell on ebay, you just have to be brutally honest about the condition of your item. I tend to go overboard if my item has a spot or a stain when I describe it. I’m sure I scare some people away, but so far, everyone who has purchased my items has been happy. I sell mostly girls Hanna Andersson used clothing that my daughter wore. I have also sold video games and books, but I do best with the clothing. I price my items reasonably and if I know they will sell, I start them at 99 cents.
Best of luck to you and if you need help, feel free to email me at ladybugxing at gmail dot com.

Too cute! Is this the first picture we’ve seen of you?
Very nice work. He’s tres creative. And I agree, that is a cute top.
That is QUITE the cute shirt. And you have a real artist on your hands — amazing the detail he captured with respect to the cut of the top and the pattern. You may be right about the future Project Runway thing.
He’s a talent! And you, mama? Well you must have some rack on you. Because all I can think of when I look at that shirt is, “where does the bra go? But where the hell does the bra go?”
I absolutely love the shirt, no wonder it’s been laundered 102 times.
The pics your son drew are wonderful too. I love your belly, lmao!!!
Cute shirt, indeed! And those drawings are priceless. You have to save those!
Oh, he is talented! How cute are those drawings! I love how he added the little heart on the first one. So sweet!
The boy’s got TASTE - that is a cute shirt!
I taught my son the word “boobies” and immediately regretted it. He rand around shouting “BOOBIES” for days.
I HAVE THAT SHIRT! In lavender! So you can send me any extra drawings and I’ll pretend they’re of me.
Ha! I love the see-through top. Very daring for such a young designer.
Also? Love the top!
I LOVE that green top. Beautiful!
Fashion Institute of Technology, here he comes!
That is more than cute - that is gorgeous!!
