Favorite TV characters-My first Meme

I’ve been tagged for a first Meme by Jessica. And this is one meme that’s “right up my alley” since my hubbie’s nickname for me is E! I’m addicted to TV but only after the kids go down for the night. Here are ten of my favorite TV characters (not in any order), this is going to be tough since I do have a lot of them. But I’ll follow the rule (this time) and here it is:

1) Tommy Gavin (Dennis Leary) in “Rescue Me”…I think he’s such a talented actor and just love everything he’s involved in.

2) Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in “Seinfeld & The New Adventures of Old Christine”…She’s such a talented actress, very natural and so animated with facial expressions.

3) Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) in “X-Files”…My hubbie and I were such fans of this show to the point that we even attended an X-Files Conference (like the Trekkie conference, losers huh?!) But Mulder didn’t even attend! What a bummer!

4) The many faces of Dana Carvey “Saturday Night Live”…he performed at our college back in the early 90’s when he was already on his way to stardom. The Church Lady was my favorite. HILARIOUS!!

5) Benny Hill as in “The Benny Hill Show”…Even though I grew up in a very strict Asian household where my parents have never mentioned the word “sex”, and forget about talking about the birds and the bees, what talk?! But we were able to watch “The Benny Hill Show”, go figure! Benny was such a talented comedian, I’m still laughing and humming the theme song to this day.

6) Officer Harry Ioki (Dustin Nguyen) in “21 Jump Street”…I was absolutely in love with Dustin Nguyen since he was the first Vietnamese actor that I’ve seen on TV, someone who looks like me (almond eyes and yellow skin that is) on a popular show!! My sister and I saw Dustin at a talk he was given at Harvard University back in the late 80’s and we were like two giggling school girls (actually we were) in the crowd.

7) Antonio Scarpacci (Tony Shalhoub) in “Wings”…He was absolutely hilarious as an Italian taxi driver. That show would have been incomplete without him. And he’s good in “Monk” as well.

8) Mr. Ralph Furley (Don Knotts) in “Three’s Company”…He was so much better than Mr. Roper. He was very funny in “The Incredible Mr. Limpet”.

9) The talented Carol Burnett in “The Carol Burnett Show”…I think she was/is a very talented comedian. My parents and five of their children would sit in front of the TV and just crack up laughing and in tears every single show.

10) Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan) in “Remington Steele”…I was in love with Pierce or was it Remington. He was so debonair, and just plain handsome! He was a good choice for “007″ after Sean Connery, big shoes to fill for the next James Bond, Daniel Craig.

That was so difficult simply because I have so many other favorites, but I won’t bore you with this list any more. So should I continue this chain and tag somebody? I just hope you, you and you will participate. I’m curious to know who tickled your funny bones, made you cry, or just in love with.

I loved Remington Steele, Er, Pierce Brosnan too. Those eyes, and the accent. Mmmmm.

I had similar infatuations with Michael Knight (David Hasselhof on Knight Rider) and Thomas Magnum (Tom Selleck, Magnum PI). But these two just embarrass me now to think of it!

UMMMM. Remington Steele…LOVE him.

I love the new adventures of old Chritine too, that is the FUNNIEST show.

And we love Dana Carvey too. We seen him live in Tahoe about 3 years ago. he was a little raunchy, but VERY funny.

AND I totally loved the Carol Burnette show growing up. We use to watch her every week. She is such a talented lady.

Gee, you and I are almost the SAME person. (hehehehe) :)

Great List!!

I liked Benny Hill, I was only able to watch it at the neighbors house. My parents didn’t let me watch that, Charlie’s Angels, Three’s Company, and G.L.O.W. at home.
They were all my favorite shows of course.

I wish I was Julia Louise-Dreyfuss. Have you ever noticed that you always say her whole name? It’s never just “Julia.” Funny.

And my 21 Jump Street love was - and still is - Johnny Depp.

I too used to like Antonio Scarpacci. Wings was one of my favorite shows when it was on. Once looooong ago I used to watch Knots Landing for the sole reason that I thought Nicollette Sheridan was, um… nice looking. Yeah, that’s it.
