Cosmetics for $1, is it too good to be true
Edited to add: The saying goes “a sucker born every minute” and that sucker happens to be MOI folks!!! And the other saying goes “if it’s too good to be true…it probably IS”. Thanks to Leah for bringing this to light (yeah, my $42 worth of darkness). Read here for more info. Well, at least my kids will have some new eye liners to draw with, and maybe my little girl Sophia and nieces will have more eye shadows to put on their dolls.Â

Ladies, and gents (those who’d like to be made up…who am I to judge?)…this is a must share. My wonderful friend and neighbor, Ms. A, just sent me this link. All the cosmetics are for $1, ONE DOLLAR people!
I love me some bargains and this screams bargain all the way to the bank. So, after reading the fine prints, the company bio, the buzz (it’s been featured on Oprah and other famous mags)…I spent about $42 ($7 shipping for everything) for 12 items X 3, that’s for my other two sisters too yo (why am I talking like this? I’m too excited YO!)! Yeah, I’m all about sharing and generous like that!
It takes about 3-5 weeks for shipping due to “high volume”, but who cares, for $42 for 36 items? I still have the overpriced leftover make-up to use up. I just hope they are worth the wait, but still who cares (well, maybe I do a little)…there are lipsticks that cost more than $42 each (not that I would surrender my money for that!). What a mark up, is all am sayin’!
I think that the cosmetic industry is outrageously overpriced, preying on the vanity of women/men! But heck, I need them damnit and they know it too. I wouldn’t want to walk out of the house without my “mask” on. I might cause an accident or worse…someone’s blindness.
If I had my way, I’d love to buy me some No. 2 pencils to use as eye liner (you can probably get a pack of 10 for like $1 or something) but something about ingesting or wearing lead that might not be such a good idea for the body or somethin’ like that. So I am at the mercy of these sharks cosmetic companies (nasty comments are welcomed!).
So, go, order some cheap inexpensive cosmetics and we’ll just pray that they will work just as good (well? Heck what’s the proper usage here?) as the other high-priced make-up. I just hope that you’ll be kind enough to let me (or my sisters) know if you see black stuff running down my face, that’s the $1 mascara that I hoarded.

I guess time will tell. I don’t feel it is a scam (but I’d never heard the Bloomindales part). It may be cheap makeup, though. We’ll see!

Are you still expecting them to send the makeup? Just wondering if the scam was a “no makeup at all” or just a different brand. Good luck!
The cosmetic company, e.l.f is legit and that they do sell inexpensive cosmetics, which could be found at pharmacies or Target. I ordered it without the assumption that it was from Bloomingdale’s (which is what the whole hupla is all about”. I ordered it b/c it was cheap and we’ll just have to see how it goes when they arrive.
And yes Lady M, they will be sending the cosmetics in 3-5 wks, we’ll just have to wait and see.
I’m a big believer of “if it sounds to good to be true you’re about to get screwed” but if it works let me know! I could use some chap mascara.
