Fatherly love
My hubbie has been away in gay Paris for business (nice huh?) this week but of course he’d rather be home with us. To him, there is nothing glamorous or exciting about business travel. What’s the fun if you can’t enjoy the breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, strolling down the Avenue des Champs-lyses or savoring that delicious crêpes with your loved ones? With that said, I’d like to dedicate this post to him on this Love Thursday.
This picture of the hubbie and Sophia was taken this past summer when we visited York, ME. It was such a nice family outing at this zoo/park. After gazing at the animals, riding the mini roller coasters (over and over), we ended up at a beach nearby. The water was cold but the warmth and love exuding from this picture makes my heart melt.

There’s something to be said about a father and daughter relationship, the bond is much different than that of father and son, I think. I’ve noticed the way my hubbie interacts with Sophia as opposed to Tyler and Trent. The tenderness he gives her and the rough housing he plays with the boys, but yet the love is equally distributed. But I know she will always be “Daddy’s little girl”!
We miss and love you LOTS Daddy!! À bientôt! (I know, what a show off! My hubbie would say “that seven years of studying French is finally paying off!”)
What do you think? If you have daughters, do you notice the difference of interaction between your daughters and your hubbie as opposed to him and his sons?

What a beautiful picture, I love it. And after seven years of studying, I think you could try to say a few more words in French to him ^^
Karen
Awwwww, what a WONDERFUL picture!!! That is just so sweet!
I headr that girls will always have a special place in Daddy’s hearts. I was a favorite of my Dad. He did treat me differently as opposed to his treatment of my 4 brothers.
Lovely picture.
Beautiful photo.
My husband is actually harder on my daughter than my son. It’s sort of backwards. But she’s still Daddy’s little girl.
And although my Dad and I weren’t close when I was growing up, I knew on my wedding day that I have held a special place in his heart. And we’ve become great friends as adults.

Mine’s up. Please do visit.
Very sweet - yes there is a different dynamic between each of our relationships, with each of our kids. And the one between Wayne and Deena is really cool.
Great post!
What a beautiful photo!
I have only one child -a boy - so I can’t compare, but I do love the father/son dynamic already and we’re only 6 months in.

Well, I have nothing to compare it to, Betty, but I will say that I don’t think there’s any greater love than that between a father and his daughter. And I think this beautiful photo sums it up perfectly.
My husband’s gone too. Business in New Orleans–I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see that city too–for the whole week. He calls and talks about Po’ Boys, oysters, the French Quarter and his hotel with 20-foot ceilings. Sigh. Paris would be worse though. But you’re right, business travel isn’t quite the thing is it? He’d rather be here anyway.
A beautiful photo.
I love your picture! Eavesdropping on love.
Wonderful, sweet, lovely blog!
Keep up your good work!!
Good luck and blessings to you
and your lovely family!
what a stunning picture! i love it!
That’s so beautiful and perfect.
Happy Love Thursday!
Karen~I know huh? Seven years and that’s all I know or dared to write. I didn’t want to make an a*s of myself by mispelling some french words or worse…write something offensive by mistake.
Krystyn~Thanks for the kind words!! You’ve made my morning!
Michelle~I love New Orleans and the food. Cafe du Monde and its beignets, to die for! Not to mention the crawfish!! Yummy in my tummy! It’s a great city to visit if you get the chance to go with the hubbie again. Yeah, business travel is not much fun as people make it out to be, especially with all the airline restrictions, being away from your loved ones, jet lag etc…
What a lovely picture! It’s funny; we only had a boy, but there was (and is) a lot of tenderness between father and son. I guess it’s just not quite as blatant.
I don’t know about the father/daughter relationship but that picture is definitely adorable! I love it when kids can only hold one finger.
So cute! She looks so little compared to her big Daddy.
That’s absolutely beautiful. I love father daughter moments.
Beautiful! I love taking stealth pictures of father/kid interaction–they’re just big softies!
Happy Love Thursday!
What a beautiful photo. I hate traveling without my family too!
Before we had children,I know my husband would have loved to have a son. Instead, he now has two daughters. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
AWWW….so cute! What a great moment you captured!
I’m new to your site……….nice place you have here! Also, nice to “meet” you! I’ll have to look around a little more.
Teresa~Thank you for visiting my humble blog. I wish I can offer you something to drink or eat while you browse around…
That picture gave me goosebumps… the water, the lighting, those cute little legs of hers! So sweet, Betty. My husband definitely treats the girls a lot gentler. Then again, they treat him differently than me as well. They definitely behave better for him! Argh.
Awesome picture! So sweet - them hand-in-hand. I have a very similar picture of my daughter and husband at the beach walking hand-in-hand. Beautiful!
What a beautiful picture! That’s one to frame and hang on the wall.
I definitely notice a difference between the way The Hubster interacts with Drama Queen and Karate Kid. Like you say, he loves both with all his heart, he just shows it differently with each of them.
That picture is absolutely priceless. I hope it gets framed.
We don’t have a son (yet) but there is definitely something that impresses me about my husband’s relationship with our daughter. It wasn’t what I had expected, I guess. I hadn’t realized just how SOFT he can be, how appreciative of her preciousness. And I hadn’t realized how well she would be able to handle his courseness, not ever getting ruffled at how loud and masculine he can be.
If anything, it makes me hope our next one is a girl, not a boy, just so I can see more of that specialness in my husband.
What a nice tribute to your husband! Love that picture.
P.S. I just visited another blog and her husband was in Barcelona on business. What is it with all these international trip? And where can I get a job like that??
That is a beautiful picture! Love your blog!
MoTR~My hubbie can attest to the fact that business travel is nothing glamorous or exciting. Living out of your suitcase in strange hotels, in a strange land, with sometimes strange people is nothing exciting! But the upside is that we get lots of mileage from these trips. We did use the miles for a 10 day trip to LegoLand for five people this past April. So not too shabby I guess.
My daughter totally has me wrapped around her little finger, and she knows it - so I don’t usually stand a chance when she wants something. But just wait until she asks to go out on her first date though. I’ll bet I don’t have any trouble saying “no” then!
