Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat

Thanks to all you wonderful folks for your words of comfort and recommendations on yesterday’s post. Who needs parenting manuals when you have first-hand experience parents, like yourselves. Catherine was kind enough to send me link and link to what might be bothering Sophia. As a token of my thanks, a bagful of Halloween candies for everyone!!

Sophia only woke up once last night, I went in to comfort her, held her close to my chest with her favorite blankie and put her back to sleep and she’s been sleeping since 3AM this morning. I’m hoping this trend will continue.

Here are some gratutious pictures we took this weekend of our superheroes and princess.

Behind that big Power Ranger helmet is my Tyler who’s ready to save the world from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Villains.

And here is my little man, Trent, in his oversized-hand-me-down Spider-Man unmasked (Mommy couldn’t locate the mask anywhere, must be in the black hole somewhere). Check out those big-a*sed muscles, reminds me of “Hans & Franz” from SNL.

And the lovely princess next to him is my beautiful Sophia in her traditional Korean outfit that she wore for her first birthday, and now serves as her Halloween costume (I hope my MIL won’t take that the wrong way). Here’s another one of her standing around waiting for her ladies-in-waiting.

Happy Halloween everyone!! What will your kids be for Halloween? And you? Will you be a sassy cat, Colonel Sanders, or the Village Idiots?

Beautiful!!! All 3 of them.

Gosh, sorry I didn’t read your post last night… where was I??

Anyway, my kids both went through (and continue to go through) phases of night waking. I’ve always gone to them to comfort them. Well, MOST of the time. Sometimes mommy is just too tired, then Daddy gets an elbow in the back. For me, it’s just my piece of mind to go to them, in case there really is something wrong. But my kids almost always go right to sleep as soon as Mom gets them. (takes longer for Dad).

I think my little man went through a phase of separation anxiety at about 18-19 months and this made for more night waking.

Good luck, Happy Halloween!

Seriously, CUTE kids!

I’m so glad she’s doing better. we’ve been having the 3am screams ourselves (eyeteeth I think), but fortunately it’s coinciding with my pregnancy 3am Crazies so I’m awake anyway.

Your kids are gorgeous. If you’re available for hire next halloween, let me know!

Congratulations on a decent night sleep! I didn’t comment on yesterday’s post, but I do remember those nights and do not miss them! Hopefully you can find some kind of solice in knowing that we all go through them - and, better yet, we all get through them.

The kids’ costumes are absolutely darling! My little man was a “fire fighter man”, as he called it. I went as a beer wench, although I told my son I was a ‘pretty girl’ for fear he’d run around saying “wench” for the next month!

That outfit is exquisite! It’s so beautiful and so much more so because of the little princess wearing it. You and your husband sure do make some gorgeous kids.

Mrs. Chicky~That’s some nice compliment! You’ve made my day/week! Yeah, we think they are pretty adorable too, but not when they have meltdowns though. ;-)

holy crud! this is the EXACT same thing that has been happening here in our house!
roxy hates her bed now for some reason. she’ll nap fine during the day (doing so now), and will go to bed at night, but then she wakes up and there’s no hope form there.
whew! glad to know it’s not just me!!!
and curling up in funky positions to ensure she doesn’t fall off the bed…? my neck is jacked today!

I love the kid’s outfits. They are soooo cute!

How is Sophia sleeping? Is she doing better still? Connor STILL doesn’t sleep all the way through the night in his own bed 90% of the time. And he’s almost 6! *yawn* Thankfully Trent is a great sleeper and stays in his own bed all night long, Thank Goodness, our bed is too small for 4 of us and the dog!

Jodi~It’s like crab shoot, one night Sophia can sleep through the night, the next waking up three times. So, every night I pray that she sleeps through the night, and that’s all I can do.

Our middle son used to wake up every time Sophia cries, but ever since we put Tyler and Trent together on one bed…Trent sleeps so much better now. It’s the best idea we came up with so far. Just a thought for your boys?

My goodness, Betty, but your children are GORGEOUS!! As if you needed one more person to tell you that though, huh?! It’s so true, though.
