My life’s beginning in Viet Nam continues

October 15th, 2006

I’ve begun documenting my life here on my blog for memory sake. The more kids I have, the more brain cells I lose. This is the next installment of “MY LIFE” series and I’d love to share this part of my life with you. I realize, asking you to read such a long post would be like asking my three children to sit still on a plane for a twelve hour trip to LegoLand. With that said I thank you in advance for humoring me!!

Incidentally, this week’s theme at mamasaysom is “life”.

Fatherly love

October 11th, 2006

My hubbie has been away in gay Paris for business (nice huh?) this week but of course he’d rather be home with us. To him, there is nothing glamorous or exciting about business travel. What’s the fun if you can’t enjoy the breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, strolling down the Avenue des Champs-lyses or savoring that delicious crêpes with your loved ones? With that said, I’d like to dedicate this post to him on this Love Thursday.

Fall foliage, what’s all the hoopla

October 8th, 2006

Am I the only one who thinks that people are making a big to-do about this whole fall foliage thing? I mean if you do a “Google” search for “fall foliage”, there’s a whole list of sites for “best foliage” locations, list of hotels and B&B offering an “Explosion of Color” weekend stay.

This picture was taken from our side yard today. Beautiful isn’t it? But still, I don’t get it. People are actually making a trek to see these leaves changing…colors?

Sometimes you don’t think they hear you, oh but they do loud and clear

October 6th, 2006

Being a Mom, sometimes I don’t think my “preaching” reaches through to my children’s stubborn heads, but oh they do (to my surprise). As in the following conversations this morning.

I asked Tyler if he wanted to buy lunch today at school.

Tyler exclaimed loudly “No” (he’d prefer a packed lunch instead)

I said “it’s hotdog day” (I know it’s one of those rare moments that this Mom will be all loosey goosey like that! So it’s in your best interest to jump at the chance.)

Tyler replied in such matter-of-factly “no, it’s not good for me!”

Cosmetics for $1, is it too good to be true

October 5th, 2006

Edited to add: The saying goes “a sucker born every minute”  and that sucker happens to be MOI folks!!!  And the other saying goes “if it’s too good to be true…it probably IS”.  Thanks to Leah for bringing this to light (yeah, my $42 worth of darkness).  Read here for more info.  Well, at least my kids will have some new eye liners to draw with, and maybe my little girl Sophia and nieces will have more eye shadows to put on their dolls.
