Pain in the neck

shouldhavecomeearly.jpg

Well, I wish I could say that this terrible neck pain was a result of going to the movies this past weekend (as indicated by the cartoon above). But nope, no such luck. Have to wait until 12/9 for a date (I’m counting down the days like a prisoner crossing off the days of his/her sentence, I know…how pathetic huh?!) with the hubbie to see him.

I woke up at 5:30ish this morning and WAS.NOT.ABLE.TO.MOVE!! I mean, the pain was excrutiating! It felt like someone stuck really really long needles on the side of my neck and my head. Like a bad case of acupuncture, not that I’ve ever been to an acupuncture session before. Uh, needles = pain, lots of it people.

I don’t get it! How did this happen? I slept the same way every single night, what’s so different about last night’s posture? I blame it on The Da Vinci Code, we saw it on DVD before going to sleep and I must have been dreaming that I was agent Sophie Nevue running away from Tom Hanks and his bad wig.  How else do you explain this tight knot in my neck? AGGHHH!!!

Folks, how do you get rid of neck pains?

Ps: Homemade hot compress of rice can be extremely hot.  If not careful, it can leave a big red spot and feel like second degree burn.  Yeah, take it from me…just a little tip.

Can you get an appointment with a massage therapist? That has helped me lots in the past.

I generally throw some ibuprofen at it and hope for the best. Also, a massage would be lovely — but I’ll use any excuse available for a massage.

Cool - you’re into James Bond? Will you go with me, because it will be the only way I’m gonna get a chance to see it. My wife just doesn’t do the whole 007 thing. But then again why should she, when she’s got the REAL thing at home! (har har).

I have found a combination of ibuprofen (at least three), heating pad, and the chiropractor help..

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Oh no! That would be so debilitating. I know I’ve had a crimp in my neck at different times and I’ve been so uncomfortable. I hope you’re able to get it taken care of!

Sorry about Jeff your pain in the neck.

My hubby loves Bond too. I could take it or leave it. The new Bond is quite yummy from what I’ve seen. Although I’m still partial to Peirce.

Sorry about your neck but YEAH! that you get to look forward to an actual date with your husband!

We just haven’t gotten to the point where we feel comfortable hiring a sitter. For now, it’s family or bust. Which has been more bust than anything as of late.

Hate to tell you but I’m better at knowing how to get neck pain than how to make it disappear. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks to all your well wishes folks. The burn is almost gone and the neck pain too. It’s a good thing I have a very good masseuse (aka the hubbie) at home.

Jeff~12/9 is movie night, so fly up and come with us but you have to get your own popcorn though. I’m totally into this new Bond, he’s very edgy and that Aston Martin is just awesome looking! I’m with Heather, I’m still partial to Pierce though, but can be easily persuaded though. YUMMY is right Heather!!

Oh No! I hope you feel better soon. Neck pain is horrible & not easy to overcome.
I’m still reading The DaVinci code, I wanna get it done before watching the movie.
Hope you liked 007!

I tried these hot/cold application on my back when my back was hurting (helped hubby move drywall-another story!!!) and it really helped! It’s called Icy Hot Patch, and it sticks to your skin. Not sure how it is on necks, it’s for painful muscles or joints, and has menthol in it. Feel better soon!

Massage it slowly with your fingers … just tread on the sore spot for about 3 minutes each until the pain goes away. If it doesn’t work, get OMEGA PAIN KILLER. It’s a cream that works wonder or SALON PAS. You can get it at your local Chinatown.

I was late getting to this post, so I hope that your neck pain is all better now, considering you are traveling with a carload of kids!

If not, all I can offer you is: Massages. lots and lots of massages. :)
