Pink or Blue-my ultrasound result

The long awaited moment came and went this morning, as we went for our ultrasound to make sure everything was fine with the baby and to find out the gender.

Can you guess if it’s pink or blue, Mars vs. Venus, standing up or sitting down (although I do know one man who sits down for this) for peeing?

Drum roll please…

Well, we will be welcoming another little guy in June. Everything looked healthy and normal, thank goodness. Typical man that he is already, spreading like an eagle welcoming us to the ultrasound. The turtle’s head was sticking out of the shell, shall we say. So, there’s definitely no question of the gender there, that’s for sure.

He was doing all sort of things, rubbing his eyes, sticking out his tongue as if to say “see that you crazy parents, you thought I was a little girl…so up yours!” And he’s so right about that! I even “consulted” the Chinese Birth Calendar to yield a baby girl and it can’t be more WRONG!! Not to mention that EVERYONE in my family thought the way I “looked” and the way I “carry” my belly will definitely be a girl, YEAH RIGHT!!

Honestly, I was a bit surprised and a bit disappointed of not having another girl for Sophia. She will be surrounded by three brothers. I know how it’s like to grow up with sisters. And I wanted so badly for Sophia to have the same relationship as I did with mine, but it’s not my choice now is it. The hand has already been dealt and this little baby will be loved and nurtured the same way our other three pride and joy.  Can you see how spoil my Sophia will be growing up, especially by Daddy?!

So without further adieu, I give you our little guy who has yet to be named. And that’s another topic we’re discussing.

Can you see this little “alien looking” guy rubbing his right eye? “Why did you wake me up so early, woman?!”

And here’s his profile, I think he might have the hubbie’s nose and cheek bones, but that pouty lips is definitely mine…poor kid.

I proposed that we come up with a name begins with the letter “t” as his brothers’ names, Tyler and Trent. My feeling is that he might feel left out and question (when he’s older of course) the reason why he didn’t have the same initials as his brothers (they both have the same initials). But my hubbie thinks that I’m finally losing my marbles. And it’s so hard to come up with another name begins with “t”, that we both liked anyway.

What do you think my blogger friends? I’ve been joking around calling him “Travis” but it has been unanimously vetoed! Five more months to pour over the “baby names” books but I might just get my inspiration from watching football once again, as I did with Trent. He was, after all, named after Trent Green, not after that idiot politician Trent Lott (although his other son’s name is Tyler too! Yikes!)

Ps: Although Sophia and I are outnumbered, the boys DO know to put the toilet seats down!!  We got them trained pretty good, hee hee!!

Congratulations Betty! Yay for boys! But… stereotyping a little are we? Ahem,
“Typical man that he is already, spreading like an eagle…”

Just kidding of course. Oh, and feel free to break away from the “T” naming thing, I doubt he would ever even realize it if he had his own starting initial.

Congrats! (Of course, we all knew it was going to be a boy. The XY chromosome seems to be dominant at Clan Waya!)

Congratulations! He looks adorable and is healthy.

Thomas starts with T. So does Tanner. Thaddeus? Timothy? Trevor?

The possibilities aren’t bad. Good luck with that decision.

Yay for healthy baby news!! Congratulations Betty!

You could also go the route of naming him starting with an S, like Sophia…

Congratulations on the healthy baby boy! I think it’s neat when siblings have the same initials.

What a fun time! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Congratulations, how exciting!

If you give him his own initial, you’ll do less writing when you have to label things in the house for each kiddo. ;)

OH MY Goodness! How beautiful to see your newest pride and joy!

Thaddeus, Timothy, THomas, it is hard to think of names beginning with T.
Congratulations!

That’s great! My husband has 2 brothers and a sister, but his sister in the oldest, so she didn’t get spoiled (I don’t think)…..My cousin has a Tyler, and her younger son is Troy. I like that name, it’s a strong historical name. You can always check here for ideas…. http://www.behindthename.com/, but stay away from these ones: http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/

You have quite a looker there Betty! And bold!

Joles hid from many an ultrasound view. I used to sneak down to radiology- I had befriended the tech- on a regular basis while at work to try and get a definitive answer. Of course I feared the worst–ambiguous genitalia.

A boy? Wow! Yippee! Your daughter will learn to love being the only female sibling. Not when she’s finally old enough to date, but later. Much later.

So the Chinese calendar doesn’t work? I am doomed. I am willing to give birth again if only I will have a girl.

that would be my “t” name vote!

Oh my goodness, my children’s genders are the exact opposite of yours! I have three girls and ONE boy. He pines for a brother every once in a while, but he really loves his sisters. I know the same will be true in your family. :)

P.S. My vote is for the name Tristan! Legends of the Fall gave me a new appreciation for that name… or maybe it was just brad pitt.

Congratulations! I remember that moment of suspended anxiety when we checked in on our two — not knowing what to expect, how you’ll react or what it will mean for the rest of your life. One of those rare moments that stay with you forever. I don’t know what it’s like to hear it’s a boy…who knows, maybe someday. Stay well and take care!
