The smallest people in the world
I was watching Primetime on ABC tonight and couldn’t help but feel extremely blessed of having three healthy children thus far and the recent ultrasound visit also yielded healthy result for our upcoming baby. Thank goodness!!
I’m sure you parents will agree with me that our only hope is to have healthy children. Unfortunately that might not be the case for some other parents. As in the case of Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley. She is a primordial drawf, a genetic condition that severely stunted in growth from birth. At 3.5 year old, she’s only 26 inches tall but she can definitely draw a crowd with such cute tiny voice and body.
Her parents were told daily when Kenadie was born that she will not survive. Defying all odds, she not only survived, but flourished into one healthy adorable little girl. But of course her parents have to make modifications to accommodate her small fragile stature, i.e. she still sleeps in a crib, has to ride the car seat for a while, has a speech therapist to help her.
As I watch the show on Kenadie, I couldn’t help but feel that her parents are such remarkable and loving people, something that’s very important in Kenadie’s survival. I can’t fathom how much trials and tribulations this family has gone through thus far, and I can’t help but admire their bravery and infinite love for their child.
But you know, being a parent myself for the past six years and four months, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing that I wouldn’t do for my children. And I bet you feel the same too.
While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.

Happy Love Thursday!

Wow- she is little.
And ‘yes’, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for my kid. Except give her Red Bull ,like the neighbors gave to their whining toddler.
We watched that Primetime special last night too. As hard as it was to watch, we couldn’t look away. So heart-wrenching. We had tears in our eyes the whole time (esp. that part where she talks about how all she wants to do before she dies is be 4″ tall.) As always, we have so much to be thankful for.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing that very cool story.
Wonderful! We do have so much to be grateful for. Thanks for the reminder. Wish I had remembered to watch this show.
I am also blessed with two “perfect” children, but I have several friends who were not. I am constantly awed by their strength and grace in raising them to be the best people that they can be. I hope that I can raise my boys half as well. Happy Love Thursday!
Amen to that!
I seen a glimpse of that Primetime & she is a doll.
I totally agree with you though. No matter what we do things to make our children happy.
Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am! I missed this show, but the message comes across from your post, and blessings are being counted at this very moment.
thanks for the reminder! you are so right.
So very true…
And that wee girl has opened the heart of many….
That was a good show. I felt for Kenadie, as well as the 25-year-old woman too.
Makes me feel selfish to try for another healthy baby…
I agree. There is nothing a mother will not do for her child, that is if she’s a good mother. There are insane and bad ones you know.
