38 dancing candles
Today is the hubbie’s birthday! Come in, pull up a chair and enjoy a piece of this delicious peach cake with us. But you have to join in and sing the birthday song, otay?!

We have been celebrating each other’s birthdays since we were 21 years old and I’m hoping we will continue to do so in our 90s.
I can’t reiterate enough how much he is my ying to my yang. The love of my life, my bestest of friend, and the best father in the whole world. I just wish that he dedicates some time out of his busy life and just enjoys it BY HIMSELF. He’s unselfish that way, he thinks about me and the kids above anything else and we love you for that. But you need to find a hobby and learn to relax!!
So to celebrate his 38th year of life on this Earth, my oldest sister (thanks T!) babysat our three rascals for the night so we can paint the town red. Actually, it’s more like a faded red since partying with a five month old pregnant wife has its limit.
I’ve made reservations at this restaurant about a month ago. I might not be a professional food critic but I.KNOW.FOOD! AND this has got to be THE best steaks evah!!
The hubbie is a gadget freak and would love to get this new toy. But heck, somebody has to put a stop to this madness after the 2nd iPod was purchased since he has no idea where the first one went. Besides, this dinner was also our Valentine’s celebration. We always have to double up on special occasions around here with the 4th kid coming and all and unfortunately money doesn’t grow on our trees in the backyard.
After the delish dinner, we went to see Pan’s Labyrinth. We both recommended this movie highly. I didn’t think I would like it but man, it was the best movie we’ve seen in a long time. It was just an overall great film with a great cast. It’s refreshing to watch something that’s not “Hollywoodish” for once. But it’s not artsy fartsy at all. The ending still haunts me today (not in a spooky way). I’m not sure I can explain it but it’s just that powerful. So, go and see this movie folks and let me know what you think of it!!
Once again, to my darling hubbie: Happy happy birthday to you! May we be blessed with many more chances to blow out the candles together with our children and future grand kids.

Kailani~Nope, I didn’t bake that cake. I’m not that talented!
We still celebrate birthdays too– unfortunately I am two months older than my husband, so I got to turn 30 first and I’ll get to turn 40– bummer.
A little cake and some presents make a dull evening rather nice I think. Birthdays are awesome– and they aren’t just for kids.
Happy B-Day to waya-dad!
