Love is dining together as a family

March 28th, 2007

The saying goes "a family eats together, stays together", with that said, we're hoping we'll be fortunate to fulfill that saying.

Ever since Tyler was born, six years ago, I've always fed him separately before my hubbie and I have dinner. And we've done that routine with all our three children...until recently. When my active tomboy, Sophia, was able to climb onto chairs, tables, any high places, dinner for two was a difficult task with her wanting to climb onto one of our legs, wanting more food. After all, she has a "bottomless pit" for a tummy.

Girls’ day out

March 26th, 2007

We had our girls' day out yesterday, my closest circle of friends...that would be my Mom and my two sisters. This event was planned a month in advance to prepare the husbands and also the kids that us mommies will be out for a whole day. Not so much for me and my youngest sister, but for my oldest sister. Her kids are very attached to her (even though they're 8, 9 and 12) since she does everything with them (I'm talking about calling her 3-4 times asking her when she's coming home and it was only 11:30 into our outing, etc...).

Sciatica is a four-letter word

March 22nd, 2007

Call me crazee, call me insane, call me what you will but I'm one of those women who love to be pregnant! I know, Crazy with a capital C.

Bring on the swollen feet/hands, the excruciating migraines, the ever-expanding waistline, the triple X boobages (well, that's what it feels like anyway!), skin darkening that prohibits any kind of sleeveless shirts, frequent trips to the bathrooms, not to mention "leakages" due to sneezing, laughing, or coughing, AND obscenely large hemorrhoid that requires daily "tucking", I'll take all of the above mentioned any day but you can keep the sciatica for yourself.

Late bloomer

March 19th, 2007

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to school, I can honestly say that now (but my hubbie thinks I'm a late bloomer in everything, but that's another post for another day). I attended schools in Viet Nam up until I was eleven years old.

My oldest sister was the smarty pants when it was just the two of us in school (the other three were much younger). In Elementary school, she would always rank either number one or number two of her class of 30 kids each semester. Me? I always came in second, second to the last or being last of the same amount of students, that is.

Please keep your “Mother of the Year” Award

March 14th, 2007

Today was like any other days of the week, except that it was a beautiful sunny 70 degrees in the middle of March day! We've been hibernating like bears, but the cubs and mama bear are getting antsy and wanting to claw our way out of this cabin fever.

While Tyler was at school, I went outside with Trent and Sophia to play until our first-grader gets home at 12:10. It was early release day today. Although Trent and Tyler go to different schools, it seems like when Tyler has early release days, Trent doesn't have school (so I thought). He's in pre-school and only goes for three hours, four days/week.
