Watch out world…I’m two
We dubbed her our “happy child”. Our little princess Sophia turns two today!!

I still remember vividly the day of my ultrasound, we were going to find out the gender of our third baby. I cried, I actually cried when the technician told us we were having a girl. A girl, my own little princess. After having two healthy, active and rambunctious boys…we were really praying for a little girl. Don’t get me wrong, I love my boys more than my own life, but I think every mother wishes secretly to have a girl of her own. Well, at least for me anyway.
It was a Friday night after having a “healthy” dinner, (Tony will definitely guess what I had for dinner…KFC of course), I started having contractions later on that night. Having gone through two prior births, we were somewhat “experts” in this department…the giving birth department. So the whole process was very familiar to us, the drive to the hospital, checking in, filling out the necessary paperworks etc…
Call me insane but I chose not to get an epidural for the second time since I didn’t want to slow down the labor process. You’re going to hate me for this, but I’m one of those who can tolerate pain, not just a prick on the finger pain to draw blood but labor pains. I mean after a 22-minute labor with my second son, again without epi (alright I’m braggin’ now) I was determined to welcome my little princess into my open arms as quickly as possible, and after three pushes…presto she was presented to me in all her pinkness, ten toes and ten fingers, a healthy set of lungs and oh such a pretty girl already!
Again, I cried like a baby. Tears of joy for finally holding my healthy baby in my arms after long nine months, and also tears of happiness for finally having a girl of my own in a male dominated family. A daughter I can take shopping with, a daughter I can share all my arts and crafts with, or just simply having that precious mother-daughter bond that my own Mom has enjoyed with all her three daughters ’til this day.
We also secretly calls her our “advance child”. She has “mastered” many milestones thus far that her two older brothers have taken longer to “achieve”. I know, every child develops at his/her own pace, and having two older brothers certainly helps Sophia imitate the good and the bad.
She is one feisty girl, that is for sure. She has no problem setting her two older brothers straight, and have gotten many time-outs already for being a bit too aggressive at times. I supposed she takes after me for being feisty and tomboyish. *beaming with pride while the hubbie is rolling his eyes*
How can you say no to this face?!

Bragging alert!!
Sophia loves to count the steps as we go upstairs…30 times per day. She now knows how to count up to ten. She can definitely show Trent (who’s 4) what comes after 2.
My little girl was able to feed herself at 15 months and refuses to be fed no matter how much rice is left on the chair and not in her tummy. And eating soup can be a challenge when it drenches her shirt more than filling her mouth, still refusing help with a forceful “Ido, Ido!”
She loves to eat like her mama. If it’s put in front of her, it will definitely be consumed. Believe it or not, we have to stop giving her extra with the fear that she might throw up since she has a “bottomless pit” for a tummy.
Here she was looking plump like a sumo wrestler and a Don King’s do at three months. Her features might have changed but the rolls are still there. And how we love those pudgy rolls. Her smiles and laughs are such infectious that you just want to take her in your arms and snuggle with her until she pushes you away.

Well, here’s to our precious daughter, the apple of our eyes, and our pride and joy…we hope the sun will always shine on your path of life, but if it doesn’t then you will bring sunshine every where you’ll go. We love you, Sophia, with all our hearts and soul!!

Happy Birthday Princess Sophia!
Betty, you’ve got a gorgeous girl there. I was going to say that you’ll be fighting off the boys with a stick, but I think your sons will help there. If Sophia doesn’t take charge of her life first!
Happy Birthday to your little darling girl!
Mine will be turning two next month. But, I still think we should get these two together for a sumo match. It would be close.
Happy Birthday, Sophia! She’s gorgeous and will be only more adored by three brothers.
OMG! I love that photo of her with her hair standing straight up. I was like that when I was a baby and so was Girlie Girl. It’s so precious! Happy Birthday Sophia!
happy birthday! OMG she’s just soooo cute!!!
Happy Birthday Sophia! Beautiful girl!
I had pretty much the same reaction when we found out that our 2nd was a girl! Actually, I screamed, laughed, and started crying and laughing at the same time. I know how you felt, because I wanted the same.
Our Sophia will be two in June. Holy cow time flies!
She is absolutely beautiful. Happy birthday Sophia!
Happy Birhtday Sophie! She is so adorable– and way to go on the 22-minute labor and no meds! You are Super Mom! I am in awe, really– that is amazing (OK I’m secretly jealous too).
Happy Birthday Sophia! Hope it was great! She’s adorable in pony tails!
She is so precious! Happy Birthday little one!
Happy Birthday!!!
she’s absolutely adorable!!!
and yes, you’re crazy for not getting the epidural. I was asking as soon as I got to the hospital, lol.
Betty: Happy Birthday!
Wife.Imp went without the epidural for boy.imp (not by choice - we just waited tooo long before going to the hospital) and likes to brag that he was born 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital and all she took was 2 Tylonol. If you knew her low threshold for pain you would understand why she brags…
Awww! Happy Birthday Sophia. That cake is lovely, and no, you can’t say no to a face like that.
I know what you mean about wanting a girl, I was the same.
Mine will be three in two weeks. She is a sweetheart.
Waya, you show off!
Happy Belated Birthday to Sophia! What a beautiful girl. =) My son had hair like that when he was a baby too! So cute. I mourn the loss of the fluff.
Happy Birthday, Happy Sophia! What a beautiful cake :^)
Happy birthday Princess!
I wish there were pics of the tornado like that but alsa, he’s a skinny child though he has a bottomless pit as well.
I heard boys are slower than girls in reaching milestones so it’s okay.
Happy birthday! (though belated;))
I’m hosting a caption contest I think might tickle your funny bone;)
Happy late birthday!!!!! Sophia is adorable!!!!!
