Happiness is…

April 30th, 2007

We could use some "pick-me-up" posts around our humble abode these days, so I'm jumping at the chance to participate in this week's theme at mamasaysom, and it's all about "happiness".

Here are the five main reasons for my happiness. Certainly there are many others worth mentioning (a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting at midnight to curb the pregnancy craving), but let's just keep this list short for now...I don't want you to puke all over your keyboard with all this talk of happy happy.

(Picture was taken from here).

Do you have a nightly routine? I don't mean sitting-on-the-throne kind of routine. I mean, what do you do to unwind nightly after the kids are in dream land. This applies to you DINKS, or single folks as well.

Me? I'm a pure couch potato and a "clicker". My hubbie hates watching TV with me because I surf the TV like a typical man (isn't that what you men are known for?), I don't like watching commercials (who does?!) and have a very eclectic taste in the shows I watch nightly.

I’m not ready

The digital clock on my bedside table is registering at 3:28AM. I've been awake staring at the the little light peeking through the curtains on the wall for the past 45 minutes, after my usual night time bathroom break. The many perks of being pregnant, I tell you.

As if the baby knows that I'm up...he's moving around ever so gently in my belly as if to say "I'm here with you Mommy! Now go feed me because I'm hungry!"

What do you get when you have school vacation (that's one week loooong, Monday-Friday, 14.5 hours/day until lights out) with the forecast above?

In case you missed the forecast above, let me reiterate for you (and if you're my friend...you wouldn't chime in and tell me how sunny your part of the country is, just sayin'):

Monday...RAIN

Tuesday...RAIN

Wednesday...uh, R-A-I-N

Thursday...take a guess

And it's the middle of freakin' April for crying out loud and we still have the HEAT ON!

Sticks & stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me

When was the last time you heard this:

"My mother is Chinese, my father is Japanese...and I'm all mixed up!"

complete with the hand gesture to the eyes to make it slanted one way to denote Chinese, and another to demonstrate the Japanese eyes and then move your eyes with your fingers all over to represent the "mixed up" part.

Well, I haven't heard that in like twenty plus years until Tyler told us at dinner last night that his best friend, T.C, told him that. He was smiling showing us with the hand gesture to his eyes and reciting the words.
