Happiness is…
We could use some “pick-me-up” posts around our humble abode these days, so I’m jumping at the chance to participate in this week’s theme at mamasaysom, and it’s all about “happiness”.
Here are the five main reasons for my happiness. Certainly there are many others worth mentioning (a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting at midnight to curb the pregnancy craving), but let’s just keep this list short for now…I don’t want you to puke all over your keyboard with all this talk of happy happy.
Happiness reason #1…my partner-in-crime (who doesn’t want his face to be featured), who is incredibly supportive, loving, thoughtful and oh so patient with our three children and very helpful around the house. Yes, I had to capture him cleaning the stove with a screwdriver. Not to mention he puts up with all my crap me.

Happiness reason #2…my very caring and sensitive oldest son, Tyler. When his brother got a timeout for drawing on the ottoman last night, Tyler was so sweet putting his arms around Trent’s shoulders and telling him to “it’s ok Trent, just breath Trent.” It almost brought my hubbie to tears while he gave the kids a bath after witnessing that gentleness in Tyler. I’m beaming with pride as I know he will be there to protect all his siblings from harm.

Happiness reason #3…our middle child, Trent, who is my mirror image (now I know how my Mom had to put up with me when I was younger). He is incredibly adorable at times and can be so frustrating to deal with. He already plays me like a fiddle saying sweet things such as “I like your hair Mommy!” even though the mirror tells me that I’m looking at a big messy mop on my head. Did I also mention that he’s very popular with “da ladies” at the playground. Something about his “bad boy” image that babes are attracted to. My hubbie and I said that we need to put a “body condom” on him when he gets older.

Happiness reason #4…my little princess, Sophia. She is a joy and a half. We dubbed her our “happy child”. She wakes up with a smile on her face 9 out of 10 times. She is a clown already at two years young. She’s very feisty, and a tomboy in the making but loves to wear “purrty” dresses at the same time. She has both of us wrapped nicely on her little finger already.

And my happiness reason #5…my little “piglet in the oven” who should be making his entrance into the world in four-five weeks. Can’t wait to meet you my little piglet!

There you have it. What/who brings happiness to you these days?

My husband. I’m not sure why but this winter has been a tough one. I’ve just been irritable and moody and don’t really know why but he’s been there to always calm me down and help me along. I don’t know what I’d do without him.
Love this post — how cute is your belly? Thanks for participating in our theme this week!
I want to draw a happy face on that belly picture really bad…
And maybe holding a KFC drumstick too….
Your Sophia and my Jolie need to get together. They sound like soul sisters.
I’m pretty happy in general. Planting things and keeping them alive is giving me some extra happiness this spring (it’s a novel concept to me.)
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again…that is one attractive family you have. I have to say I’m jealous of that cute belly you have too.
Awwww…what a beautiful post. And what a beautiful family.
And OMIGOD - a husband who cleans your stove with a screwdriver? No wonder you’re so happy, woman.
Awwww… that was so sweet. Your children are beautiful & I’m so jelous of your hubby! Man! cleaning stove with a screw driver? You lucky ducky, never let HIM go!!!
Your Tyler sounds like my Nate & your Sophia sounds like Emma. I just hope they will still be comparible when they’re both your kids ages & more.
I can’t wait to meet the new baby!
Happy, happy! You have the cutest family.
Awww, so many wonderful blessings to count here! And the result of counting? Happiness!
thanks for sharing them with us. Can’t wait to see that cute baby. Did you settle on a name?
happy, happy indeed!
“body condom” LOLOLOL! That was too funny. What a truly “beautiful” post. Special bonus, got to see the tummy!! You really are blessed with a lovely family.
Piglet coming! (Still - the last stages of pregnancy just wear you OUT!)
Thinkinf of you these last weeks!
Lost of things to be happy and grateful for. This baby will be so lucky to have a family like yours!

This beautiful post!!!
I LOVED that post. And your kids are soooooo cute and sweet. And you have a beautiful home! I love your hardwood floors. Beauitful. WOW about the your pregnant belly! You REALLY do have a bun in the oven don’t you?
:)
OH, and how many more times in your life do you think you’ll get to write that somebody got put in time out for writing on the ottoman?
Such a kid thing to do for sure. It ranks right up there with, “no, you may not stick up a eraser up your nose,” or “please stop driving your (toy) truck over the baby, he doesn’t like it”! Kids keep us laughing and shaking our heads, that’s for sure.
