Counting down…

I had my 36th week check up on Friday and comes to find out, this little “piglet” is already inching his way down the “chute”, and I’m at 1 cm dilated. Now, going from 1 cm to fully dilated at 10 cm is anybody’s guess as to when it will happen.

This is the first time in four pregnancies that my OB actually said to “take it easy!”  I supposed it’s still a bit too soon since my due date is not for another three weeks.

Since I’ve been pretty active with this pregnancy, read: 3 kids to keep me on my toes since day one of this journey, I wouldn’t doubt if “piglet” chooses to come out this Memorial weekend. If that’s the case, I’m going to dub it “Memorable” weekend for sure.

I had a funny dream last night that this baby was no piglet and he came out at 34 inches, and 40 pounds with a full set of teeth, as in a two year-old child. And I was skittish to nurse him in public because as I said in my dream “it’s freakish!” having a baby that big in my arm with teeth at my bosom. What does that mean? How would Freud interpret that dream?

Not to mention there are so many things that need to be done and tidied up before I’m out of “commission” such as:

- the baby’s clothes are still in the laundry basket and need to be put away.

- the bassinet is still not unpacked yet.

- the car seat is not washed and still in the black hole, aka the basement.

And that’s just to name a few, but the scary question that’s constantly nagging me is “am I ready?” Well, we will know soon enough and there’s no turning back now, is there?!

But it’s comforting to know that there is a HUGE support network that I’m lucky to have after the baby is born. My Mom will be at our house to nurture us for two weeks, and then the hubbie will be home for one week. He has been such a tremendous help around the house, giving the three kids baths every other day, cleaning the house, etc…

And not to mention my other two wonderful sisters who will be around to help out with our children, and I’ve mentioned many times before that one loves to clean and one loves to cook. So we’ll be all set for a few months!!

So folks, wish me luck with this birth.  Hopefully we’ll be holding our healthy baby boy soon enough!

Wow your pregnancy is really flying by for me! (And it’s been really easy for me too…ha ha.)

I dreamed weird things when I was pregnant too. I think it only means that you’re pregnant.

And I think we always wonder about being ready for a baby, but then baby comes and you just start doing all that you need to do without thinking about it!

Can’t wait to “meet” the piglet.

I can’t believe you’re almost ready to have your son. It seems like only a month ago you announced your pregnancy — not for you, though, right? lol

Take it easy and relax!

All I can think is WHERE DID THE TIME GO???? You can’t possibly be at 36 weeks already! Not long now. Hope the last few weeks are great!

Wow, it’s almost time….how exciting! I’m sure that’s the last thing you’re thinking of, with 3 active kids running around. But hey, you’re super mom remember? Are you going natural again?
Good luck cous!

When I was pregnant, I dreamt I gave birth to our cat, Wilson. I was kind of disappointed to have wasted an entire pregnancy and it turned out to be a cat. Psychonanalysis is not touching that one!

So excited for your new extended family to be! And how lucky are you to have such a loving network around you.

Hi Mimi~We’ll see how I feel when the BIG day comes. I’d love to go “natural” again if I could. Since I do feel much better the day after birth w/o the epi.

You’ll do great! How exciting! Violet saw your comment about your son’s interest in Pokemon and told me to ask you if he’d like to be her penpal (email)…..so, drop me an email if you like…..what a funny dream…..I remember strange dreams during pregnancy as well.

I really wouldn’t know how to read that dream. I’m just hoping and praying that he isn’t 40 lbs at birth! ;)

Sounds like you have a great team of support in place! Lucky you!

Wow, that’s funny that you’re supposed to take it easy. The more kids one collects the harder it is to do just that. :)

I hope you’re feeling well otherwise and that all goes well. I’ll have to keep checking in regularly to watch out for the exciting news.

No baby yet. She is hoping to get through this weekend at least to enjoy all of the good food. You know Waya - it is all about the food.
