Got milk and look who’s one month today
If this post is too long for you folks, just skip over the words and look at the gratuitous pictures. I’m trying to squeeze everything into one post. With a baby gnawing at the “girls” every three hours, numerous stinky poopy diapers to be changed, keeping three kids occupied with activities, meals need to be prepared, house has to be cleaned, laundry to be done…there’s not much time for me to write more than one post a week. C’est la vie with four kids…but I love it until somebody has a meltdown, and that includes ME!

With the increased cost of milk to something ridiculous like $5.99 a gallon in some cities, you might want to try this milk with your coffee.
Alright, that’s gross but hey “don’t talk like that about my food YO!” Parker’s saying.
Check out who’s one month today sporting a hand-me-down shirt with a very serious expression that reads “if you think I’m cute…you should see my Dad”!
You would smile gleefully too if you had on a “Chicks Dig Me” T-shirt that your auntie bought for you.
Here’s one picture of Sophia trying to take off her shirt to nurse Parker, like Mommy. Monkey see, monkey do…I tell you.
She’s very affectionate, constantly kissing and “hold him” she would say. And not even at three weeks old, Parker is very alert, following our faces with his eyes, smiling and cooing, alright so I’m bragging. The kid can also burp and poop loudly. He even startled himself one time from his own loud poop.
Thanks to a few of my blogging friends who’s been emailing/commenting wondering how I’m doing with the four kids. Here’s an update of what we’ve been doing.
My wonderful SUPER MOM stayed with us for two weeks helping with the cooking (enough food to feed my sister’s and brother’s families since they live close by), cleaning out closets & pantries (she’s like the Energizer bunny), walking the kids to the bus stops, giving the kids baths, upholstered the kitchen chairs (she can pretty much do anything!).
Old dirty chair…
New chair with microfiber, kids proof fabric.
Mom used her “ancient Vietnamese recipe of cleansing” to nurse me back to health, aka no showering for a week (EWWW you say…tell me about it! But I did manage to wash my hair every day until she found out and was really mad at me!), and instead I’d be sitting with a blanket draped over my whole body with this pot of steaming hot water (consisted of lemon grass and ginger) which I have to slowly uncover otherwise there might be first degree burn to deal with, like sitting in a make-shift sauna until there’s no more hot steam.
Afterward, she would wiped me down from head to toe (boy, I felt like a kid all over again. And didn’t I tell you she’s a great nurse?!), like a sponge bath. I’ve been through this ritual with all four births and it’d last for a week. My Mom had also helped my sister with this ritual for two births as well. Her reason for us doing this “sauna bath” is to “preserve our health for when we’re old and gray“, that’s the only way I can translate it.
It would be ungrateful not to mention my Dad’s role during these two weeks of my recovery. He’d come up after work to visit us, but after going food shopping at the local Asian market for list of things that Mom needed to cook for me. Not to mention keeping the house clean while she’s away.
And last but not least, my next store sister and my oldest sister have been a tremendous help as well. After coming home from work, the sister next store would drop by my house to help with the kids’ baths, doing dishes or just cleans my house. I did mention many times before that she’s a neat freak, which works to my advantage actually since she can’t stand mess. I’m no dummy, I’d leave my house messy, and then she’d clean it for me. Hee hee. And my oldest sister would visit on the weekends and cooks for us as well.
Technically, my first two days spent with the kids all by myself were last Thurs and Friday…and actually it wasn’t as chaotic as I thought since I already have a routine down pact with the three kids. The only time it gets crazy is when Parker needs to be fed like NOW and the other three are waiting to be fed, or Sophia takes off her diaper (again! Going commando but refuses to be potty trained!) and I can’t do anything until I’m finished feeding Parker, things like that.
So how’s your summer going? Looking forward to the first day of school? I know I am!
Got to go, Parker needs some boobage. I feel like Betsy the cow…MOO MOO!!
