We went to a pool party at an old college friend’s house this past Saturday. The last time we saw each other was two years ago, even though we live only an hour away from each other. Geography and busy family lives kept us apart for this long, although we do keep in touch via emails/Christmas cards…etc.

Our friends have five children (one out of the bunch was adopted) and the most down-to-earth folks. It’s interesting how their parenting method mirrors ours somewhat. Their childen get along with ours splendidly and our conversations flow smoothly as if the length of time never passes between us.

Edited to add: I added 4 whole pounds to Parker. He only weighs 14 lbs not 18 lbs…that’s the midnight posting for you. And Tony, you skipped right over the part where I asked if you’d want to give up your Wii, either that or you’re just ignoring that request.

Things have returned to “normal” somewhat at our humble abode. What is “normal” anyway when it comes to four kids under the age of six? Inquiring mind wants to know.

Leo Buscaglia’s inspirational quote says it best “Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.”
