How ’bout them RED SOX

Ever since the hubbie bought himself a big-@ssed us a flat screen TV as his for our 10th year anniversary (I must confess that he did buy me a nice ring as well!) with HD capability, and no payments until 2010 (got to love the American way of living!), watching more TV (read: more couch potatoing), including sports, becomes so much more exciting!

Being the fair-weather fan that I am (no shame in admitting), I couldn’t help but get on the big wagon and cheered for the Red Sox in the postseason games against the Angels. What an awesome game it was when they beat the Angels 3 games in a row putting them in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Indians this Friday.

Aaaand speaking of the Indians vs. Yankees last night, another great game! I was glad to see the “evil empire” crushed by the tribe! And now Joe Torre’s fate hangs in the air. Gee! When did I become a sportscaster, my hubbie would say. He loves watching sports with me, as I can come up with some off-the-wall comments like “Brady’s hair looks so soft doesn’t it?”

Can you say “Y-U-M-M-Y!” Oh did I say that out loud?!

It’s good to be a sports fan in Boston right now folks. Not only my hunk, #12 Tom Brady aka Mr. GQ cover of the New England Patriots, is heading an undefeated and the best team in the NFL, but Boston College (our alma mater) is ranked 4th in the country based on the latest AP poll!! I supposed 3 out 5 sports teams ain’t bad huh?! Yeah I know, the Bruins had their days and the Celtics haven’t been the same since the Larry Bird era. We were huge Celtics fans back in the ’80’s, who remembers Tiny Archibald? He was one of my favorite basketball players of all time.

Anyway, gotta to, I have to wash the new Red Sox gear that we’re all going to wear for the game this Friday, including this baby bottle for Parker!

How about you? Do you have a favorite sports that you watch religiously or are you a fair weather fan like me?

I’m not much of a sports-watcher anymore. Used to watch football in college when we could go to the bars and get free shots from the cute bartenders though.

I only like sports because the background noise makes for some good napping! :) Chad LOVES the Vikings and the Twins, he’s a Minnesota boy. He won’t pick a new team because he hearts them, even though they ALWAYS lose. Now…that’s loyalty for ya….;)

You already know my stance on the Vikings. I was a die-hard fan as a kid until they broke my heart 3 times. After my hopes were raised 2 more times by Warren Moon and Dante Culpepper - and then crushed like an egg - I have since become an apathetic fair weather fan only. In other words, I’ll believe they will win a Super Bowl when I see it.

Geez - see what you started?

I’m not a sports-guy. Although I did watch a lot of Baywatch in my college years (does that count?)

Ummm…. yum is right! He is definitely a hottie!
We are NFL & hockey fans here. I am definitely a football widow.
Dallas is his team & I must say I do get into watching them play as well.
I would love one of those big screen tvs….some day… some day, lol

I am not a sports fan…
But I love to hear the passion of some sports fans and how they have theories for everything… and superstions…. The put old wives tales to shame….

Golf. Most people think golf is boring, but if you play it, it isn’t. And some of those younger golfers (Camilo Villegas) are YUMMY!
