’tis the season

not shopping for Christmas or preparing for Thanksgiving , but it’s a season for viruses and visits to the pediatrician around here.

After a few days of the nagging smokers-kind-of cough and fevers, I took the four kids to see the doc yesterday and was told there’s a virus calls “para-flu” that’s going around. It has similar symptoms like croup. ALL!FOUR!KIDS! But poor Parker has a bit of fluid in his ears, not a full-flown ear infection unless his fever reaches 100.5 degrees, which we’re crossing our fingers that he won’t. Poor kid’s bottom two teeth are also cutting through, and he’s not even five months yet!!

Tyler is doing his best with whispering but not sick enough to get a free pass to stay home from school. Psst, it’s not that noisy around here with the kids not able to argue at their regular high pitched voices when they have laryngitis. But still that didn’t stop them from the usual rough housing though.

I didn’t even get the chance to post their Halloween pictures from last week. Here they were in their costumes. Tyler was a Power Ranger, Trent was Optimus Prime Transformer (but the boys switched the masks because one is too big for the other), Sophia was a fairy and Parker was in a hand-me-down lion outfit. Mommy and Daddy were dressing up as two tired-sleep-deprived parents with huge bags under our eyes. I couldn’t decide between the French maid costume or a Pillsbury dough boy and you?

Since I don’t have the time to blog and visit yours as much as I’d like (life with four kids tends to get in the way, stinky huh?  I kid, I kid!) just wanted to recommend a movie that we saw recently that was surprisingly good. I’m not a fan of Kevin Costner, must be because of this movie, but he was excellent in Mr. Brooks. And his alter-ego, William Hurt, certainly is an Oscar contender in this movie. Check it out!

Gotta go, Parker is crying. Must be his ears and teeth and let me add that the kid is so constipated that he’s passing the stinkiest gas, it smells like a sewer or rotten eggs. Hope y’all have a nice week.

It certainly is that season. I’m coughing here myself. Maybe I’ll put in a call to the doctor again and see if it’s more than just a cough.

Cute costumes…I bet the kids underneath are cuter though.

We have that SAME hacking smoker’s cough here…hmmmm….in California even. Isn’t that odd? So, it’s just a virsus? And nothing that you can do it for it except for the normal rest and lots of fluids? I hope your kids are all feeling better very soon! And yes, they look adorable in their little outfits.

Sick kids are the worst. Well, not as bad as sick kids AND sick parents - but still. Hope they all are hack-free soon!

The kids are adorable! We didn’t go trick or treat because Ethan was on time out twice that day. He would’ve been Opt. Primes too. Pls. don’t pass those cough this way…they’ve finally got 2 weeks w/o being sick.

Oh no! I hope they’re feeling better soon. Hey, is this virus just for kids? Sounds like what I have!

Aww, the kids are cute but nothing will get me to watch a Kevin Costner movie.

Oh my gosh! You poor thing, all the kids sick? Yikes.
I know how bad it is here when both of mine get sick.
I hope they feel better soon.
Cute costumes for all of them! Sophia is adorable in that outfit and Parker makes a pretty cute lion, lol.
Hope your household is back to its regular rowdy self soon.

They all look adorable. Don’t you worry about catching up on blogs, I don’t know how you manage to even update as much as you do! But, it’s great to see and I love reading about (&seeing) your family!
