Weekend recap-the busy blogger’s post*

As Dennis commented on my last post, “I never thought you would post even less frequently than I do…”, but it does get really hard to post daily, as I once did a loooong time ago in this blogging land. Add another kid to the pile and your busy life gets even more hectic. So I’m opting for the lazy fast way of posting, I know you folks are waiting on pins and needles for an update from me, just amuse me and nod “yes”. You’re the best!

Here’s Betty’s last week/end recap (this might be lengthy, I’m adding some gratuitous pictures so you can skip all the blah blah blah):

Parents-teacher conference = no school for 3 days

Trent didn’t have school for TWO WHOLE day, adding to his already day off on Wednesdays, so that’s three LOOOONG day at home. It was parent-teacher conference week, not sure why they needed all those two days off. What to do? What to do with a 4.5 rambunctious y/o boy who needs attention ALL!THE!TIME!

We went outside to make snow man/woman with our first snow of the season. As pathetic as the snow people looked, I think I had a lot more fun decorating it. Say hello to Mr. and Mrs. Snow:

Another “I’m bored!”, and he was put to work as Mommy’s sous-chef. He did a great job cutting the string beans though, and very proud of himself. Here’s a hint for you if you don’t know it already, (you internet people are pretty smart, but just in case you’re new in the parenting dept.), to get kids to eat their veggies (Trent is one who doesn’t want to eat anything green), get them to help you with the cooking.

Did I tell you already that Trent is ambidextrous? So far, he can use both hands to write, eats, cuts things, except pick his nose…he needs his right hand to do that more effectively. I don’t know if this is just an Asian thing but my in-laws tried many times but unsuccessfully (much to my chagrin!) switching the fork/pen/pencil in Trent’s left to right hand. Something about conformity and not being “different”, must be the Asian thing.

Office Christmas party = long overdue date night

The hubbie’s Christmas party was this past Saturday, that means finding a willing reliable babysitter for our four rugrats. Luckily, my little sister lives next store (if only she knew we’d have four kids…she might have changed her mind moving next to us) and since I supply breakfast and take her oldest daughter to the bus stop every morning and watch her other girl other times, we earn a few “date vouchers”.

You’d think we go on dates once a month but it doesn’t work out that way, only on special occasions. So, this is our first date in about a year. You’d thought I was going to a prom or something. I had on the only dress that fit with a lot of help from Miss Girdle and Mrs. Control Top! My sister did my make-up (a little too much eye shadow…I looked like Mimi, thanks sis!).

As I mentioned before, whoever said you’d lose weight faster by nursing is full of horse sh!t! Either that or having the 4th kid really did my hot sexy body in (oh alright, I can dream can’t I?!), not to mention the fact that I’m one year closer to the big 4-0 doesn’t help get rid off the stretch marks and muffins tops faster than my 2nd or 3rd pregnancy!  The only positive thing is not having to “stuff” your bra or getting help from Victoria (you know the store).  The “girls” were “spilling” over by the end of the night, I thought I might “spray” the waiter if I bend down too much.  I got 9 ounces of milk when we got home.  Certainly “got milk”!

If you’ve ever been to office parties, you’d know how lame it is…you can’t possibly “let your hair down”, it’s very political, and lots of @ss kissing going on. I’ve been gone from the corporate world for eight years now and nothing has changed. It’s kind of nice to be the outsider and speak your mind instead of worrying of losing your job for pulling off your hubbie’s boss’ toupee, danced on the table or puking in the bathroom while your hubbie holds your hair back. I’m kidding! Those days are over, regrettably!!

Inching slowly toward the big 4-0 trepidly!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Guess who’s 25 today?! Yup! Moi! Oh alright, in my dream! I can’t believe I’m one year closer to the big 4-0! But what’s in a number any way? Let me say it again…what’s in a number any way? Maybe if I tell myself that every waking moment…then I’ll believe it myself.

We went over my oldest sister’s house this past Sunday. It’s nice to hang out with her and her family. She’s still going through her chemo and hopefully the cancer will be gone soon. She asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her I don’t need anything, my only one wish is for her to be rid off this deadly disease so she can be healthy and happy once again!

After 39 years on this Earth, my most treasured possessions are my immediate family, my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and I’m hoping all of them good health, something you can’t put a dollar amount to.

I should play the lottery!

Thanks to Mandy for picking me as the winner of the HP Photo book AND an HP camera.  Check out her site, she’s a very talented photographer, and a great mother to her two girls who she homeschools.  Violet and Olivia are very adorable and very good artists as well!  We’d love to visit her and her family if we ever get to visit Legoland again.

So that’s all folks!  What’s been happenin’ in your part of the world?

*I’ve started this post since Monday and just got around to finishing it today.   How do you people do it, post daily???

Augh, you look nothing like Mimi, I am sure of it! And I will be 38 this year, so I completely and totally feel your pain. Only you have a new baby, I would posititely die of fatigue with a new baby. I don’t know how you do it! You rock.

Your snowpeople are adorable. They look like “little people”. :)

I am lucky if I post monthly, so I understand..I don’t know how people post daily either. Good LAWD.

Hey, happy belated birthday Betty! As you know I’ve been busy lately so I missed the actual day, sorry.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure you should have taken a picture of yourself with too much makeup. After all, isn’t that what this whole blogging thing is all about ;-)
