More gray
“I think you should dye your hair”
I said as my husband gave me the quizzical look as if to say ‘what are you smokin’ this time!’
“No really, your hair is all gray and you’re not even 40 yet! When we go out people might think that you’re my dad!”
After he dusted himself off of the floor from laughing hysterically,
he said “nah, people will think you’re my trophy wife!”
That’s the reason why I married him folks, he certainly knows what to say.
Go ahead, call me vain. But really, I don’t mind his prematurely gray hair at all. I happen to think a man with salt-and-pepper hair looks very distinguished (Richard Gere comes to mind).
In my hubbie’s case, I merely suggested it to spruce up his look, for his mom’s sake. I think every time she sees him, the first thing she’d comment on is how his hair has gotten more gray than the last time, and that he must be “working too much, my poor son”. I refrained from telling her that it’s having four-kids-and-a-wife look!
Well folks, today his hair turns a bit more gray because he’s adding another candle to the cake. Won’t you join me in singing a joyful 39th happy birthday to my distinguished hubbie who:
-still gives me the chills (the good kind) when he’s in the room,
-makes my heart skips many beats when I hear your voice,
-thinks I’m “so pretty” when I fall asleep on the couch, mouth wide opened with drool running down my ‘unmasked’ face,
-everyone comes to for advice,
-is very generous and extremely caring
-can babysit 10 kids at one time with ease
but most importantly who:
-puts up with ME!

My hubby also has grey hair. And he has years to go before he’s 40. And it’s more, grey, than salt and pepper.
He joked last summer that he should dye his hair while on vacation and go back to work and tell them that the work had caused his hair to turn grey. He didn’t do it though.
I think he secretly likes it that people think he’s 10 years older than he is. Why, I couldn’t tell you.
Talk about the loving spouse! If I had said, ‘but then they would think you’re the trophy wife’, I would have been busted for not declaring that they ‘already think of you as the trophy wife’!
Your hubs has got it sooooo easy! LOL

And tell him to welcome to the club. I started turning gray around his age too… and the chicks still dig me
