Mother’s Day tradition
Every previous Mother's Day, all the mothers in our families (that would be Mom, two sisters, sister-in-law and moi) spent our day cooking for the whole family. Our Mom prefers it that way since it would be so chaotic to have all twenty of us dining out. But not this year! I've made an executive decision for everyone...we're having our girls' day out! No screaming kids, no cleaning, no laundry, no errands, no chauffeuring anybody around, no changing diapers, no wiping bums, and no cooking for one day!!
But I couldn't possibly left my four children and husband home without any food so I spent the whole day Saturday cooking five dishes for them and packed for the other families as well, you could call it mother's guilt.
Here we were at The Cheesecake Factory with some delicious dishes, you can see my hand reaching for the mimosa. That was some expensive orange juice.
We talked, we laughed, we enjoyed each other's stories regarding our children and men, we put our thoughts of our sister's chemo treatment aside for the moment, we dined on delicious food and we declared that this will be our new tradition for all future Mother's Days.
I must give a shout out to my dedicated and loving husband (flattery works you know!), who not only had to finish a project for work, took care of the kids and when I waltzed in around 7ish, the kids already had their baths and in pj's ready for bed. Sorry ladies, he's all mine!
Happy belated Mother's Day to you! What did you do for your special day?
Also, I can't help but share the latest picture of my happy adorable Parker, a.k.a. "chubby guy".
He was absolutely enthralled with the light saber, he is his father's son after all!!
And lastly, Sophia and Parker enjoyed their "tupperware time", who needs to buy toys?
Have a great week folks, I'm hoping to visit you guys soon. It's been very busy around here with lots of painting and redoing bedrooms. I'll post the "after" pictures soon. I know you're on pins and needles until then.
