Camping is for the birds

July 28th, 2008

First of, I’d like to wish my oldest sister a big happy 41st-birthday!!!!!!!! She is being released from the hospital on her b-day (again! Same thing last year) after a three-week stay for the stem cell transplant. The procedure went well but she had to endure a lot of pain and infections, not to mention her hair was falling out due to the chemo, so finally she had to shave her hair. But she is such a trooper despite what she has to endure.

My Locks of Love

July 1st, 2008

After reading about Ann Curry donating her hair to Locks of Love (LOL), I’ve decided to post about it on 8/20/2006 and took one step further to join her in growing out my hair for this great cause. I did have some concerns about LOL after doing some research on the net (in my last post), but if Oprah stands behind LOL, then it’s certainly good enough for me.

Every time I see children who lost their hair due to terminal diseases, it just breaks my heart and I’m so glad I’m able to do my part, no matter how small. Almost two years later, I’m happy to say that I have my own 10 inches of locks to donate as well.
