A birthday to celebrate
I can’t believe time has gone by so fast. This time four years ago, I was admitted to the hospital and was about to welcome our only baby girl into the world. Epidural? No thanks! I’m too anxious to see my girl that all the pains sort of subsided. The only thought I had was holding my girl in my arms and thinking about my two boys at home.
I couldn’t contain my tears of joy, as I sobbed while pushing Sophia out. Out she came after five pushes with a healthy scream, jet black hair, beautiful pinkness all over her, ten toes and ten fingers. It was amazing that she latched on to me right away on my first trial at nursing her.
Although I love my two boys to death, but I’m so thankful to have a little girl of my own. If you have a daughter of your own, I’m sure you’ll agree with me.
You’d think that having two older brothers will somehow make Sophia more tomboyish, but that is not the case. She is a girly girl through and through, she certainly didn’t inherit that from me, her tomboyish mother. I truly believe that it’s really innate. She loves to play dress up, loves to wear dresses, pretends to put her make-up on. And one day, I even caught her painting her nails with a red marker. I’m definitely in trouble now!
Sophia is inquisitive, caring, happy, and thoughtful four years old. She is my biggest helper around the house, pushing the kitchen chair to the sink to help me dry dishes, or hand me diaper to change Parker. She’s the first or the only one to say “bless you” after you sneeze or “thank you for the food mommy”.
She has become quite the artist around here. I didn’t get the chance to scan the pictures that she drew to show off to you, but take my word for it…let’s just say she can draw better stick figures than me. And she has a great imagination as well, making up stories while holding a book pretending to read.
I know, this is all a bragfest but if you’ll meet her in person, you’ll agree with me that she is one of a kind!! Wishing you a happy and healthy life my one of a kind adorable little girl!!
