Sticks & stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me

April 12th, 2007

When was the last time you heard this:

“My mother is Chinese, my father is Japanese…and I’m all mixed up!”

complete with the hand gesture to the eyes to make it slanted one way to denote Chinese, and another to demonstrate the Japanese eyes and then move your eyes with your fingers all over to represent the “mixed up” part.

Well, I haven’t heard that in like twenty plus years until Tyler told us at dinner last night that his best friend, T.C, told him that. He was smiling showing us with the hand gesture to his eyes and reciting the words.

I’m speechless and that’s not like me

April 4th, 2007

I had to pick my jaw off of the ground after reading this. I’m simply speechless (which is not like me at all!), my hair got a bit grayer, and my blood pressure shot up quite a bit.

This is the second time in a month, I believe, that students as young as 5th Graders were caught having sex in school. I know, you read that correctly. S-E-X!

OH

MY

GOD!

A ton of questions went through my head, making my own parental judgment, who wouldn’t, right?

Please keep your “Mother of the Year” Award

March 14th, 2007

Today was like any other days of the week, except that it was a beautiful sunny 70 degrees in the middle of March day! We’ve been hibernating like bears, but the cubs and mama bear are getting antsy and wanting to claw our way out of this cabin fever.

While Tyler was at school, I went outside with Trent and Sophia to play until our first-grader gets home at 12:10. It was early release day today. Although Trent and Tyler go to different schools, it seems like when Tyler has early release days, Trent doesn’t have school (so I thought). He’s in pre-school and only goes for three hours, four days/week.

Kleenex is not only for wiping runny noses

February 5th, 2007

My 22 month old Sophia is a joy and a half! She is always happy, except for when she’s sick, and being the third kid surrounded by two older brothers, she is one feisty and tough girl.

It’s like watching “monkey see monkey do” with her. If her brother climbs on the table, she will too with ease. But my two older sons never stuck anything up their noses, and guess what…she did.

Can you guess what this glob is?

Want to see it compared in CSI style? See what you can learn from watching A LOT of tv?

Happy 4th Birthday Trent!

Our middle child, Trent, is four today!

“My siblings and me!”

Most of the times, I don’t remember what I had for lunch but when it comes to my children’s arrival on Earth…I can replay it in my mind as if I’m rewinding my favorite shows on the DVR to watch. (I’m sure you parents can relate!)

I’d like to replay it for you, well actually for me too in case I lose more marbles as I get older and adding more children to my clan. As always, skip to the gratuitous pictures below if this post is too long.
