Love is dining together as a family

March 28th, 2007

The saying goes "a family eats together, stays together", with that said, we're hoping we'll be fortunate to fulfill that saying.

Ever since Tyler was born, six years ago, I've always fed him separately before my hubbie and I have dinner. And we've done that routine with all our three children...until recently. When my active tomboy, Sophia, was able to climb onto chairs, tables, any high places, dinner for two was a difficult task with her wanting to climb onto one of our legs, wanting more food. After all, she has a "bottomless pit" for a tummy.

Love is being flexible

Love is being able to provide healthy snacks for your children after school, although it can be challenging at times. Don't get me wrong, they get their "junk" treats too, but not often if I can help it. What does a mother do to cover all bases except to throw everything out to see what will "stick", I mean consume.

Exhibit A will show you four bowls of fruits which contained blueberries, pears, apples, and mangoes (the papaya was spared since it was not ripe yet). So which one will be consumed by my three adorable rascals?

Love is being a great helper

February 7th, 2007

I've often written about my six year old son, Tyler, on this blog and how he is 6 going on 40. I think being the oldest of three children has a lot to do with him being sensible and all. And for this Love Thursday, allow me to demonstrate how responsible he can be at six years of his life.

Love is devising a to-do list which he has written all by himself (with some help in spelling a few words from Mommy) to help with the chores around the house.

Love is in the elbow grease

January 17th, 2007

Love is when your hubbie woke up one Saturday and decided he wanted to clean the stove,

I mean really clean the stove by using the screw driver to scrape off the grease.

And if that's not enough in giving your pregnant wife a hand at cleaning, he even cleaned 2.5 baths with the Swiffer WetJet in his PAJAMAS.

I just hope his Mama will never see these pictures, she's definitely going to cry. Something about Asian Moms never wanted to see their sons doing housework. I know, tell me about it. They are still a bit backward old fashion, and that's women's work. But then again, I might cry too if I see my sons doing that!

The smallest people in the world

I was watching Primetime on ABC tonight and couldn't help but feel extremely blessed of having three healthy children thus far and the recent ultrasound visit also yielded healthy result for our upcoming baby. Thank goodness!!

I'm sure you parents will agree with me that our only hope is to have healthy children. Unfortunately that might not be the case for some other parents. As in the case of Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley. She is a primordial drawf, a genetic condition that severely stunted in growth from birth. At 3.5 year old, she's only 26 inches tall but she can definitely draw a crowd with such cute tiny voice and body.
