Friends

August 28th, 2007

We went to a pool party at an old college friend's house this past Saturday. The last time we saw each other was two years ago, even though we live only an hour away from each other. Geography and busy family lives kept us apart for this long, although we do keep in touch via emails/Christmas cards...etc.

Our friends have five children (one out of the bunch was adopted) and the most down-to-earth folks. It's interesting how their parenting method mirrors ours somewhat. Their childen get along with ours splendidly and our conversations flow smoothly as if the length of time never passes between us.

Counting down…

May 20th, 2007

I had my 36th week check up on Friday and comes to find out, this little "piglet" is already inching his way down the "chute", and I'm at 1 cm dilated. Now, going from 1 cm to fully dilated at 10 cm is anybody's guess as to when it will happen.

This is the first time in four pregnancies that my OB actually said to "take it easy!"  I supposed it's still a bit too soon since my due date is not for another three weeks.

Late bloomer

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to school, I can honestly say that now (but my hubbie thinks I'm a late bloomer in everything, but that's another post for another day). I attended schools in Viet Nam up until I was eleven years old.

My oldest sister was the smarty pants when it was just the two of us in school (the other three were much younger). In Elementary school, she would always rank either number one or number two of her class of 30 kids each semester. Me? I always came in second, second to the last or being last of the same amount of students, that is.

Scribbit’s Write-Away Contest

March 8th, 2007

One of my favorite bloggers is hosting a March Write-Away Contest and the topic is childhood memories. I'm not much into contests since I don't think I'd win (I know, not much positive thinking on my part), but this subject is of an interest to me since I've written two posts about my childhood memories growing up in Viet Nam

Some of you have graciously amused me by reading them already, but if you haven't had the chance to read it...please go, amuse me some more. I've documented my childhood memories in these two posts, The Year of the Monkey in Viet Nam and My life's beginning in Viet Nam continues. Thanks for reading!

Do you REALLY want to know more about me

January 15th, 2007

Kailani tagged me for this meme back in December and I'm just getting around doing this now, I'm efficient that way, I know. She'd like me to list 5 things that you don't already know about me and all I have to ask is "do you REALLY want to know more about me?" Anyhoo, I had to rack my brains to come up with this list. So here goes.
