The best birthday gift ever

December 12th, 2006

Today I turned 5.43 years old, as in dog years.

I think that sounds better than the actual human age. I’m sure you folks will figure that out. I’m not really hung up on turning older but I guess the number is just too big to comprehend. I hope that makes sense. Either that or I’m really losing my marbles turning one year older and talking gibberish…as usual.

To celebrate the occasion, my oldest sister was asked volunteered to have our three rascals sleep over on Saturday while the hubbie and I went out and paint the town red.

What’s in a name

October 25th, 2006

My siblings and I all had two names (except for the youngest brother) when we were born, one was formal Vietnamese names (for school) and the other was either American/French names for home. I haven’t had the foggiest idea as to the reason why my parents decided to do that. It’s not enough that they had five kids to deal with on a daily basis, but trying to remember which names to call us sometimes can lead to “hey, hey…you!”

My life’s beginning in Viet Nam continues

October 15th, 2006

I’ve begun documenting my life here on my blog for memory sake. The more kids I have, the more brain cells I lose. This is the next installment of “MY LIFE” series and I’d love to share this part of my life with you. I realize, asking you to read such a long post would be like asking my three children to sit still on a plane for a twelve hour trip to LegoLand. With that said I thank you in advance for humoring me!!

Incidentally, this week’s theme at mamasaysom is “life”.

My sisters-My best of friends

September 27th, 2006

Love Thursday is upon us once again and I’m dedicating this post to my two sisters who are my best-est of friends.

This picture was taken last November when all 53 of us siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts and in-laws all gathered in San Jose for our uncle’s wedding. He finally settled down and found love at 50 years young to a lovely lady who is two years his junior.

Love is in the air

Love Thursday is the brain child of Karen and Irene. And let me tell you, there were abundance of LUUUVVV this past weekend, handcuffs or no handcuffs, Jeff!

Here are some more pictures of our first mini getaway this past weekend. We spent the last day at Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, MA.

It was so tranquil and serene, you can be sure that there was a wedding ceremony happening not too long ago on this beach, as evidence by this makeshift canopy.
