The pursuit of perfection comes to a disappointing end

February 4th, 2008

Although we don't bleed red, white and blue in true Patriots colors but it still hurts right now thinking about the disappointing loss of the Trophy to the Giants last night. Perfect season (18-0) comes down to one important game and boy did the Patriots blow it BIG!  It was just painful, like having the worst constipation kind of pain watching the game.

Gotta believe!!

I know, I know...you're saying "enough with the Red Sox alrighty!!" But as I mentioned in my last post, I'd only write about the Sox again if they win the World Series...and they certainly did tonight, a sweep of four game to none against the Colorado Rockies!!

WOW! What a nail biting game 'til the end. I'm dedicating this post to the remarkable John Lester, the starting pitcher tonight, who battled a rare form of non-Hodkin's lymphoma last year at 22 years young. He kicked that nasty disease in the @ss and lead the Sox to their second World Series in three years. You are my MVP!!

Take me out to the ball game

Before I begin my post, I'd like to send my thoughts and prayers to the folks in San Diego and surrounding towns who are affected by this fierce and devastating fire. It's unfathomable to grasp the extend of the devastation until you watch it on TV. The latest news reported more than 500,000 or even as high as 950,000 people have been evacuated and hundreds of homes destroyed. Here's hoping that Mother Nature will ease her wrath and send some needed rain.

The expression on Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon's face and the t-shirt say it all folks!!   WHAT!A!GAME!  WHAT A GAME TONIGHT!!  And I don't know if you can contain your jealousy folks, but guess who's going to the first World Series game this coming Wednesday?!  That's right folks, unless my friend changes her mind and ditches me for someone else (she better not!)...I'll be posting pictures of the game Thursday!

Thanks my darling hubbie for babysitting the kids!  He's so excited for me but of course he'd love to take my place, but no chance buddy!!

How ’bout them RED SOX

October 9th, 2007

Ever since the hubbie bought himself a big-@ssed us a flat screen TV as his for our 10th year anniversary (I must confess that he did buy me a nice ring as well!) with HD capability, and no payments until 2010 (got to love the American way of living!), watching more TV (read: more couch potatoing), including sports, becomes so much more exciting!

Being the fair-weather fan that I am (no shame in admitting), I couldn't help but get on the big wagon and cheered for the Red Sox in the postseason games against the Angels. What an awesome game it was when they beat the Angels 3 games in a row putting them in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Indians this Friday.
